This video covers the parachain analytics, monitoring, and alerts sections offered in Zeeve's dashboard. Ghan Vashishtha and Zaid present a live demonstration of how the dashboard helps you see and monitor these things. Learn more in the video.
00:00 Explorers
Ghan starts by explaining the inclusion and exclusion of types of explorers in the Zeeve dashboard, depending on which type of node you're running. There is no white-labeled explorer for DevNet. But it is available in TestNet and MainNet. Polkadot.js directly shows you the punching of blocks. So the process gets much easier with that.
01:00 Analytics
Ghan shows the available options for analytics. He showed detailed dashboard information in terms of system load and RAM usage, swap usage, root file system, basic configuration, disk space, and everything else that is running your DevNet underneath. This is available for all the collator and RPC nodes.
01:28 Collator nodes
Ghan asks why collator node information is provided separately. It is slightly different from the information in the previous dashboard. Specifically, the information in the previous dashboard was about the hardware running underneath and this one is targeted towards your parachain, collator nodes, and their health. He then goes on to explain the different parts in this section. And don't worry, you don't need to understand all these graphs and charts. There is a monitoring engine running. That keeps track of all these things and then throws alerts and notifications whenever necessary. So you don't need to keep your eyes on this continuously.
03:14 RPC-related information
RPC and collator need to be in sync in terms of block height and some other areas. Ghan explains this necessity and the availability of the information in the dashboard. Again, this comes with a system that gives you an alert in case something doesn't look right. The system is also designed in a way to minimize this discrepancy by smartly switching between nodes. Learn more in the video itself.
00:00 Ghan hands over the presentation to Zaid with a brief introduction to Larch. Mentioning it's an automation Zeeve created on top of Zombienet. People familiar with Zombienet would love it as it eliminates the need and understanding of command lines by operating the parachain like a cakewalk.
