00:00 Hi, my name's Sam Quine, Digital Report for the Lancashire Post and I'm here on Shelley
00:11 Road after a domestic property fire took place at 239. Lancashire Fire and Rescue sent three
00:18 fire engines from Preston and Penwitham to attend the fire at 7.32 this morning and the
00:26 fire was contained within a bedroom but did have damage to the bedroom and the next door property.
00:31 No one has been injured but the fire is under investigation and the cause is yet to be found
00:39 out. Now speaking to firefighters they said whilst the property was damaged there was no injuries and
00:48 they've been here ever since 7.32 and it's been split between two groups. Now speaking to local
00:57 residents they said they were shocked at the scale of fire but they feel safe now that the fire has
01:05 been put out and they just want to know what caused the fire in the first place. One nearby
01:13 neighbour said they're glad there wasn't any injuries and the fire didn't spread further across Shelley Road.
01:18 Despite the fire only being limited to a bedroom and some damage to a nearby property the damage
01:31 was significant in terms of items in the bedroom so builders as well as Lancashire Fire and Rescue
01:37 have been at the property conducting relevant safety checks. The owner of the property himself
01:46 has said he does not know how the fire started but an investigation is underway.
01:50 Enjoy.
