Severe Storms and Hurricane-Force Winds Leave Hundreds of Thousands Without Power in Texas

Hundreds of thousands of Texans are still without power after severe storms unleashed hurricane-force winds in Dallas and Houston. As of Wednesday morning, over 450,000 utility customers across Texas were without power, including more than 200,000 in Dallas County alone. Both Houston and Dallas faced hurricane-force winds on Tuesday, as storms flooded roads, downed trees and power lines, and damaged some buildings severely. Summer heat will ease this week, but those without power are at risk of heat-related illnesses.
