NWA US Tag Team Champions Brian Pillman & Tom Zenk defeated Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane (w/ Jim Cornette) via disqualification at around the 12-minute mark when Cornette climbed in the ring and hit Zenk with his tennis racquet as Zenk had Lane in the sleeper; after the contest, Pillman & Zenk were attacked, with Zenk being tossed to the floor before Eaton & Lane hit an elevated Alabama Jam to Pillman, as Cornette put his racquet over Pillman’s throat; moments later, several wrestlers came out to try to help Pillman but Eaton, Lane and Cornette held them from getting in the ring; the three continued to assault Pillman’s throat until Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson ran out to make the save, with Cornette and his men leaving ringside with the US tag team title belts
