Ukraine’s Zelensky Urges Biden to Attend Swiss Peace Conference, Asks for Permission to Use West’s Weaponry in Russian Territory

The intent is to attain a consensus amongst powerful world leaders on how to stop Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, but President Zelensky believes U.S. President Biden must attend. 00:10on how to stop Russia's aggression in Ukraine,
00:13with Reuters reporting recently that Putin's army has taken around a fifth of Ukraine's total territory.
00:19Now Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is making a plea for US President Biden
00:23to attend the peace talks, saying during a recent press conference,
00:27I would very much like President Biden to be there in person,
00:30and I know that America supports the summit, but you and I don't know at what level.
00:33He added that whatever the leaders decide,
00:35they will be looking for the US to take the lead on the resolution.
00:38However, Zelensky added that while he and his countrymen and women appreciate
00:42the military aid they have been receiving,
00:44they need permission to use it against Russia in Russian territory.
00:48Saying about that, quote,
00:49We can see the places of arms. Even from reconnaissance, you get maps, satellite images.
00:53You see, you see where they stand, but you cannot respond.
00:57I think it's unfair, but we cannot, and this is a fact, risk the support of partners.
01:01And that is why we do not use the weapons of our partners on the territory of the Russian Federation.
01:06Zelensky added that Putin is afraid of this summit taking place,
01:10saying that is why Russia seems intent on hosting a counter summit soon.
