00:00 The Global Human Rights Federation has called for Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail
00:06 to deny entry into Malaysia to people like Moroccan content creator Abdullatif Ouiza.
00:13 This comes after Abdullatif had shared a video of himself reciting verses from the Quran
00:17 in front of Batu Caves.
00:20 Abdullatif said he thought Batu Caves was a historic site rather than a religious one,
00:25 and that he did not know the iconic 42.7-metre tall statue was of a Hindu deity, namely Lord
00:30 Murugan.
00:31 GHROF President S. Sashi Kumar said the excuse Abdullatif gave when issuing his apology yesterday
00:38 was very lame and unacceptable.
00:41 He questioned Abdullatif's intentions for reciting Quranic verses at a non-Muslim place
00:46 of worship, saying it was clearly meant to insult and mock a non-Islamic religion.
00:52 Sashi also raised a hypothetical scenario and asked if a non-Muslim had done something
00:57 similar at a mosque, would a mere apology suffice?
01:01 He also said that if the Madani government is serious about addressing race, religion
01:05 and royalty issues, Saifuddin should ban Abdullatif as a lesson to those with bad intentions.
