00:00 strong, solid education.
00:02 And in the state of Florida, whether it's kindergarten, whether it's eighth grade, twelfth
00:07 grade, whether it's in our universities, we don't want any of the indoctrination in the
00:13 state of Florida.
00:14 I'm sorry.
00:15 And you think about what's happened at some of these universities.
00:25 You look at places like Columbia University, you look at Harvard University, and they basically
00:33 let the inmates run the asylum.
00:36 They can go and you can demonstrate in favor of Hamas, you can take over property, you
00:43 can pitch a tent and just set up an encampment, you can take over offices, you can do all
00:49 of that, and nobody suffers any consequences.
00:52 Well, in the state of Florida, we had a couple of our universities where you had some of
00:58 these Hamas people try to set up encampments at Florida State, at the University of Florida,
01:05 and others, and that lasted about 15 minutes.
01:08 They were kicked out, and we upheld the rule of law.
01:18 But I think it shows what has happened in education in this country, because this isn't
01:25 necessarily new for the universities, this is just something that's now been so brazen,
01:31 because it's one thing to do whatever the fringe, kook, left cause is, and go out and
01:36 quote protest, but when you're celebrating a terrorist group that was beheading babies,
01:43 assassinating elderly people, cooking people in ovens, and that's the group that you want
01:48 to align yourself with, and yet these administrations and some of these powerful universities are
01:54 basically siding with these people.
01:57 There's a sickness in education in so many parts of our country.
02:02 And I can tell you my job as governor is to ensure that what we're doing in education,
02:08 whether it's our choice programs, which we do include homeschool in and have supported
02:12 homeschool families, whether it's school districts, private scholarships, charter schools, or
02:18 public universities, we want to protect the people of Florida from that intellectual rot.
02:24 We want to protect the people of Florida from having an agenda shoved down their throats
02:29 that they don't want.
02:31 And that involves a lot of things.
02:33 You know, we had to tussle with a company right down the street here that you may have
02:36 heard of a couple years ago, because we think it's wrong to teach first graders that they
02:42 were born in the wrong body or that their gender is a choice.
02:45 That's not what we want to do in Florida.
02:49 And we're happy to stand up.
