00:00 Cutting taxes is a core conservative principle because we believe that we want people to keep as much of their own money as they can.
00:09 But we're only going to do that if we can be responsible with the public finances and make sure that our public services have enough resources.
00:17 And that's why we're cutting taxes that grow, that help grow the economy.
00:22 And that means that overall, we're going to have more money for our public services.
00:26 And that's what was found in our last fiscal events with the cuts in national insurance.
00:30 So the cuts for average workers, the Office for Budget Responsibility Calculator that actually helped grow the economy.
00:36 And so that's how we're going to do it. But in addition to that, I know that public services are so important to all of us.
00:42 And because of the strains of covid in particular, it was difficult for a lot of public services, particularly the NHS.
00:48 And we're still recovering from that. But that's why we're investing in improving the productivity, the outputs for our public services, particularly the NHS.
00:58 And so we're making sure that not just more money is going in, but that money is spent as wisely as possible.
01:04 Fewer in the backroom and in management and more at the front line.
