00:00 Did you know you could make gyros at home?
00:01 Well, you can, and you won't believe how easy it is.
00:03 Combine Greek yogurt, extra virgin olive oil,
00:05 lemon juice, red wine vinegar, garlic cloves,
00:08 salt, paprika, black pepper, cumin,
00:10 coriander seed, oregano, crushed red pepper, and cinnamon.
00:13 For the meat, I'm using flavorful
00:14 and inexpensive chicken thighs,
00:15 but you could also use beef or lamb.
00:17 Just pound them to an even thickness.
00:19 I'm no Judge Judy, but this chicken
00:20 is guilty for being delicious.
00:21 And here's where the magic comes in.
00:23 Use one to two slabs of onion,
00:25 and then stack your chicken
00:26 by threading it through the skewers.
00:27 Roast it at 375 degrees for about an hour,
00:30 or until it's nice and browned around the edges.
00:32 Look how beautiful this is.
00:34 For a little more stability,
00:35 you can always add another slab of onion or another skewer.
00:37 When it comes time to serve,
00:39 shave off the amount you need.
00:41 P.S., if you want a more in-depth look at this recipe,

00:44 Once you've got your chicken ready,
00:45 you can set out your toppings,
00:47 and people can build their own gyros.
00:48 And I'm going in with some of those pan juices.
00:51 There is so much flavor in that chicken,
00:53 and it is so tender, it just melts in your mouth.
00:55 as good as anything you get in a restaurant
