Transcript
00:00Hello, my name is Myriam, I'm 47 years old, I'm Belgian, and the question that was asked to me was if I was an MP at the level of the European Union, what would I do?
00:18Well, I would give a little more purchasing power to the inhabitants of each member country, because joining them should not diminish us, but make us a little stronger, and today that is not the case. So that's what I would do, give a little more purchasing power.
00:34I want the fiscal policy pursued in the European Union to be more liberal, to let governments be bolder in making larger public investments, otherwise such countries as Latvia will remain in the backyard and will never achieve the economic level of the old European democracies.
01:01Also, I believe it's necessary to put a final stop to austerity policy which pushed many people, millions of Europeans all over the European continent to poverty and to economic immigration.
01:18Especially important, what I'm talking now is about Latvia, which lost about 15% of its nationals during the economic crisis after the year 2009.
