00:00 So James, looking back at the footballing season as a whole, obviously four Welsh clubs
00:06 representing in the English Football League in Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Wrexham.
00:12 Obviously quite varying seasons, especially Wrexham with their fantastic promotion. I
00:18 mean, let's go through, let's rate them out of 10. Let's start with Wrexham, we may as
00:23 well. I mean, a fantastic story and it just keeps on almost getting better for them.
00:28 Oh yeah, the story is just going to keep going. You've got to believe that this is the second
00:34 or so chapter of a long book here for Wrexham moving forward. Fans from the other teams,
00:41 they were like, "Oh, it's not going to happen. They're not going to do this now." You know,
00:44 they've made it up to the non-league. Anyone could do that. It's getting into, like, now
00:50 you're in the league, it's the proper stuff's happened. But they've proved people wrong
00:53 and they went for it. Didn't win the league. There are other teams there who were just
00:58 consistent all year, who just didn't look like not winning the league. It was just always
01:03 going to be strong for them, but they kept in it. They knew what they needed to do. And
01:07 it goes long, long when this story continued because Wrexham in League One, they haven't
01:12 been there for decades. So it's so exciting. Amazing. You've got to say out of 10 for the
01:18 season, they didn't win the league and they wanted to win the league. So maybe a nine
01:22 and a half because they did everything except win the league.
01:26 Yeah, and obviously staying in the league with Newport, very much down the bottom, obviously
01:34 avoiding relegation. But their run from the 23rd of March to the 27th of April, all losses.
01:41 I mean, it doesn't look amazing for them. How would you summarise their season as a
01:44 whole? Obviously, managing to stay in the division after some poor form is at least
01:50 something to work on for next season.
01:53 Newport have always been quite resolute and they've been in League Two for a good few
01:58 years now. They're one of the longest stays in League Two. They're always at the table
02:04 trying to challenge maybe the top to get into the playoffs. And they looked like they were
02:09 staying somewhere mid-table, comfortable enough all through. And then what do you say about
02:15 running like that? I think it was eight losses in a row at the end of the season. It's just
02:20 things would have been absolutely cursing from doing that. No one wants to see that
02:24 happen to their club. Eight losses at any point in the season in a row is ridiculous.
02:31 But to end the season like that, it was a shambles for Newport. Things are going to
02:36 change there in the club for next year. You've got to think that something's going to have
02:39 to, you know, whatever happened at the end can't happen again. And you'd give their season
02:46 a middle of the road five or six for the year and then to lose it like that, you can't give
02:51 them more than like a three out of ten for that season. What looked promising enough
02:57 just crumbles by the end.
