00:20 Said Amir Muzakir Al Said Muhammad pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to

00:26 him before Judge Azura Awi.

00:29 He was charged with accepting RM100,000 from Nexus Corp Group's Sindram Berhad Managing

00:34 Director Wan Azhar Yusuf as an inducement for the company to secure a tender worth over

00:40 RM381 million.

00:43 The contract was meant for the maintenance and supply of the infrastructure, server and

00:47 software for the police's radio system, RMP.Net.

00:52 He was also accused of accepting another RM250,000 from Wan Azhar as an inducement for the same

00:59 purpose.

01:00 The charges were framed under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009, punishable

01:05 by up to 20 years' imprisonment and a fine of at least five times the value of the bribe

01:11 or RM10,000, whichever is higher upon conviction.

01:15 The court granted Said Amir bail of RM60,000 with one surety and ordered him to surrender

01:21 his passport until the disposal of the case.
