00:00 Cotton-top tamarins are officially critically endangered in the wild, with only roughly
00:07 2,000 adults left.
00:09 Their natural habitat in the tropical jungles around northwest Colombia is being destroyed
00:14 bit by bit, with roughly 95% of their original habitat disappearing in the last few years.
00:21 That makes the new pair at Folly Farm all the more important, as there are hopes that
00:26 the newbies Ray and Raquel will become a breeding pair and can add to their dwindling numbers,
00:31 being a massive boost for the species all around the world.
00:36 Despite their cute and playful exterior, these two will hopefully prove to be an integral
00:40 part of their species in the future.
00:44 And they're not the first new additions to Folly Farm this year, as in recent weeks the
00:48 Pembrokeshire Zoo have welcomed Nova the sloth along with five Humboldt penguin chicks.
00:55 It seems like the Folly Farm family is growing all the time.
