UNARIK, 34, from Tenerife, describes his look and lifestyle as free, authentic, without labels and nonconformist. After spending a large portion of his early years being told how to act, dress and live, an 18-year-old Unarik decided that he had enough of the shackles of society and began to live his truth. Unarik told Transformed: "Mostly we are told how we need to be, so that we are loved, so that we are accepted. I don't care what you think about me, I don't care what you say about me anymore, I just want to live my freedom." Since leaving Germany and moving to Tenerife, Unarik has found a freedom that he has been looking for since a child and now lives completely free and away from traditional society. Today, with the help of makeup artist Denisa, Unarik will be stepping back into the corporate world once again as he is going to be Transformed from his 'Nonconformist' look to an 'Investment Banker' style. Unarik will be revealing this new and rather shocking look to his best friend Nelhe, who shares his free views on life, but how will she react? Will Nehle hate what she sees? Or will she surprise herself by actually liking Unarik's new look?

00:00 They call me exotic.
00:02 [laughs]
00:03 Authentic, individual, unique, not fitting in.
00:07 Today I will transform from my being as I am
00:12 into an investment banker.
00:15 There's a lot of makeup.
00:16 I hope I will not look like a clown.
00:18 Are you ready?
00:19 I'm ready.
00:20 Oh gosh, this is not a shoe, this is a cage, a prison.
00:24 I never saw him in different clothes, so I'm super excited.
00:29 [laughs]
00:30 Oh my god, that's so different.
00:33 Hola, buena.
00:38 Hola, buena.
00:39 My name is Unarit.
00:40 My look is my self-expression, which is like just me,
00:44 without any kind of box.
00:46 I am not my body or what I look like.
00:50 I'm not my personality, I'm much more than this.
00:53 For me it's important, self-love, self-expression,
00:57 self-care, self-responsibility.
00:59 My way of self-expression, which is through to music,
01:04 through to art, starting with tattooing myself,
01:07 get this kind of piercings, which I feel more comfortable with them.
01:11 Key element would be just one word, authentic.
01:14 That's me.
01:17 Today I will transform from my being as I am
01:22 into investment banker, which is quite exciting
01:27 and also kind of scary, because I really can't imagine myself looking like that.
01:32 I hope I will not look like a clown later.
01:35 Yeah, excited.
01:36 If I think about an investment banker look,
01:40 I mean, the first what I see is like really closed on the neck,
01:45 something which is like dressed really, really peaky.
01:49 And I assume they also wear all these shoes.
01:52 And if I imagine myself wearing shoes for one and a half or two hours,
01:56 I feel uncomfortable with that.
01:58 There's a lot of makeup.
02:01 Okay, everything is set up, you can come.
02:03 Hide it!
02:04 So I'm going to start with the hands.
02:09 First we need to do color correct,
02:11 because your tattoos are going a little bit to the blue side.
02:15 We have to use this kind of color.
02:18 I grew up in a system.
02:19 I grew up in a normal family.
02:21 I grew up with a lot of standards.
02:23 How I have to be, how I have to look and how I have to behave.
02:27 All of this was tiring me after a time.
02:31 And I also felt really uncomfortable in trying to follow that road,
02:36 trying to swim with all the fishes.
02:39 And suddenly it was something happening inside of me,
02:42 which was a strong feeling of,
02:45 no, I want to experience individuality.
02:48 I don't want to be put into a box,
02:51 because I don't feel comfortable in it.
02:53 It looks already like skin,
02:54 so I'm impressed what is possible with makeup.
02:57 Why do you want to do this transformation?
03:01 Out of curiosity.
03:03 I am tattooed, I am like this, what I look like.
03:07 And I'm just really curious how it looks if I'm in something else.
03:14 Do you get judged on the way you look and dress?
03:16 There are a couple of moments where people judge me by how I look or how I dress.
03:22 Especially with my Instagram, I can see and feel there are more people
03:28 that judge me just by how I look or send me weird messages,
03:31 especially about dreadlocks having,
03:33 and this is a culture abuse or like taking something from the culture.
03:38 Once someone said, I wouldn't be able to afford that lifestyle
03:43 if I wouldn't have rich parents.
03:45 My parents were rich of love, but not rich of money.
03:49 How do these judgments and comments make you feel?
03:52 There was a time where those sayings or words triggered a lot inside of me,
04:00 but this is also something which, or what I see more as a challenge for me to heal myself,
04:05 not being affected by it anymore.
04:08 Am I pretty now?
04:10 Who are you going to reveal the look to?
04:12 Um, Nila, my really, really good friend.
04:17 Since years we know each other and she just knows me as I am.
04:21 Tell me, what's happening today?
04:23 What are you doing? What is the plan?
04:26 Truly, it invited me to transform me into something what I'm usually not.
04:31 So I became really curious because I can't imagine myself fitting normal into the society,
04:39 fitting normal into a kind of picture of what is normal.
04:43 Can you give me a hint? What kind of style would it be?
04:47 Maybe a politica? Maybe business? Maybe, I don't know. I will see.
04:55 And I'm a little bit scared about it, but I'm also curious. I'm really excited to switch.
05:02 We are done.
05:05 Should we bring the clothes?
05:08 Let's do it.
05:09 Are you ready?
05:12 I'm ready. Let's do it.
05:14 Oh gosh.
05:17 This is weird.
05:24 It's weird?
05:26 Yeah, there's missing something. Like seriously, I look like naked.
05:29 I mean with the hands I can still go with that, but the whole thing, what is this?
05:36 The beautiful, pretty experience.
05:39 But I wouldn't go like that on the street.
05:42 Who is this?
05:44 What are you doing to your feet, Stan? This is like the absolutely unhealthy thing ever.
05:48 I don't know why people do that. I don't know who invented shoes, but this is not a shoe.
05:52 This is a cage, a prison.
05:54 So we've been very busy since you've gone.
05:56 I never saw him in different clothes, so I'm super excited.
06:00 Can't wait to see him. I like his style, so for me he doesn't have to change.
06:05 I like his style, how he is.
06:07 But I'm really curious to see him in a different look.
06:12 Like I thought, it's a business style.
06:20 Yeah, I mean now we can go for setting something to people or just making a party.
06:25 Your tattoo is gone.
06:27 Yeah, as well.
06:29 Oh, crazy.
06:30 Even there.
06:32 Oh, crazy.
06:34 There are no tattoos left.
06:37 You look a little bit like a different person.
06:40 I mean, this is still there, but...
06:42 Yeah, but all the tattoos are gone.
06:45 It's a little bit empty.
06:49 Even your piercings.
06:51 Do you go on the street with me like that?
06:53 Yeah, of course, of course.
06:55 But it's not really you.
06:58 I think your personality is missing.
07:00 Change your hair now and then you can work on a bank.
07:02 But I wouldn't like, especially because of the shoes.
07:04 This would be the main reason why I wouldn't like to work there.
07:07 If I would have to wear those shoes all day.
07:09 The shoes are the main problem.
07:11 Yes.
07:13 Oh my God, that's so different.
07:17 I feel that Nelly's reaction was really authentic.
07:24 It is Nelly. She is like just straight out with what she feels and sees.
07:29 I mean, the only thing which I could see myself wearing in a normal day time is maybe the white shirt.
07:37 But I would even cut the arms off.
07:40 I learned that my feet don't belong into shoes.
07:46 That's the first thing what I learned.
07:49 But for the whole review for myself and what I could get out of it, I stay authentic as I am.
