00:00 They got away in the first half, but I guess you would have been reasonably happy with
00:03 the way you stuck at it in the second half.
00:04 Yeah, definitely.
00:05 I think, you know, when any team gets a jump on you at the start of a game, that's always
00:12 a concern because then you're playing catch-up netball throughout the day.
00:17 But we did try and really reset the game at half-time and say we need to start again,
00:21 this is another half of netball.
00:23 I was particularly happy and impressed with the girls in the last quarter.
00:28 They won that quarter by two goals.
00:31 So that was something I spoke to him about at three-quarter time.
00:33 We really wanted to show character.
00:35 We didn't want to let it blow out, which often can, you know, if you're looking at margins
00:40 like that.
00:41 But the girls really reined it back in and I was pleased with the way they played.
00:44 Well, it went from 15 to 19, so it was a pretty solid half.
00:48 If you can put that out there for the full four quarters, you're competitive with the
00:51 best, aren't you?
00:52 For sure.
00:53 And that's the conversation we've just had.
00:54 We know we've got it in us.
00:55 We know we can match up with those teams, but it's actually about execution.
01:00 And it's about when we're out there on the court and things are not going the way that
01:05 we'd hoped, what do we actually need to change about the way we're playing our game and the
01:10 things that we can control to work our way back in there.
01:14 And that's something that we'll just continue to work on at training.
01:20 We need to look at where we're making mistakes and not just continue to do the same thing.
01:26 We really need to change that up.
01:27 What are the mistakes that you're seeing out there that you think you need to improve on?
01:30 I think it's when we're carrying the ball down to the transverse line to enter the goal
01:34 third.
01:35 We're having some issues with entry and with carrying ball into third quarter.
01:39 So that's going to be our work and that's what we'll continue to work on.
01:44 Their goal defence today really cut a lot of that ball off for us.
01:51 They gave her their best play.
01:52 Oh, she would have to have been.
01:54 She really, really shut us down in that area and that's something we've got to work on.
01:59 We've got to be able to counteract that.
02:00 We've got to be able to adjust out on the court, not wait to come to a break and for
02:04 your coach to give you that instruction.
02:05 We've got to be having those conversations out on the court.
02:06 Third of the way through the season, where do you see the girls at?
02:10 Are you sort of thinking that you're in the mix?
02:12 They always like to think we're in the mix.
02:15 If you run North Ballarat four goals in a half, you're in the mix.
02:21 On our best day, for sure, we can take on anyone.
02:23 I truly believe that and I know the girls have got that belief.
02:28 But we've got to be able to bring it and we've got to come out firing ready to go from the
02:32 start.
02:33 From the start of the first quarter, we've got to be as fierce as we were in that last
02:38 quarter.
02:39 We've got to want the ball, we've got to be willing to put our body on the line and
02:43 those types of things.
02:44 So look, I mean, yep, we're six rounds in.
02:49 We've had some closer contests than today and I think...
02:52 We've had a draw and a one goal.
02:54 We haven't yet.
02:55 And I think, you know, maybe that's not reflective of where we're at in the netball we've been
03:01 playing, but we've got to step it up.
03:03 And that's the message at the moment.
03:05 Fantastic.
