Transcript
00:00You're the 100, 200, 400 Mirabarra Gift and now Ballarat Gift winner, how does it feel?
00:07It feels so good, especially getting the Ballarat Gift, I feel like it's more special.
00:11Mirabarra Gift is a home gift, so it's so good, like I'm so proud.
00:15Ruby was always going to be the challenger, wasn't she?
00:19She had that outside fight, didn't she?
00:22What did you think when you crossed the line, did you think you had it?
00:24No, actually I genuinely thought I came second, I thought I didn't catch her,
00:28I had to do it, I was like, oh let me just leave, see if I can get her,
00:31and then I sort of just waited to hear if they would announce who won,
00:34and then when they announced me I was like, oh yes, I got her.
00:37I feel like this is probably going to be the most special win of the year, honestly,
00:40we train on this oval all the time, this is our city, our town,
00:44and then just to take the win as a local is just so nice.
00:47Can you put a finger on what it is that's actually turned you from a good athlete to now a great athlete?
00:54There's a few factors, I would say number one is mentally I have a different mentality
00:59compared to last season, just really believing in myself,
01:02and then I would say just the work we do with Gareth,
01:06obviously it's my only second season with him,
01:09so the work we do is more sprint focused, position focused,
01:13and that's made a big difference.
