00:00 >> The Press: Thank you, Bri.
00:01 Republican Senator Mitt Romney said in an interview overnight
00:05 that he believes that President Biden
00:06 should have pardoned his predecessor
00:10 from federal charges.
00:12 And Romney argued that it's now been a win-win for Trump
00:15 in his campaign and in his public profile
00:17 that he's been able to use these charges to his benefit.
00:21 >> Ms. Psaki: I'm not going to speak to pardons from here.
00:23 I'm just not, especially for a candidate for 2024 election.
00:28 I'm just not going to speak about it from here.
00:29 >> The Press: But the presidency is obviously
00:30 a presidential power.
00:31 >> Ms. Psaki: I'm just not going to speak about it from here.
00:33 Okay.
00:34 >> The Press: It's great. The Bureau of Labor Statistics
00:37 yesterday released inadvertently some CPI data
00:42 about 30 minutes before they were supposed to.
00:44 It came a month after it was demonstrated
00:47 that an economist had been talking to Wall Street firms,
00:50 and a couple years after,
00:53 there was some suspicious trading activity.
00:55 So I'm wondering what level of concern you guys have,
00:58 how confident you are in the BLS leadership,
01:01 and if you think there should be an outside investigation.
01:05 >> Ms. Psaki: And to your question,
01:06 it was an inadvertent leak yesterday by BLS,
01:10 and there was a statement that they put out,
01:11 BLS has alerted the Office of Management and Budget
01:14 and DOL's Office of the Inspector General of the Incident.
01:18 BLS takes its data seriously and security, obviously, seriously,
01:22 and is conducting a full investigation
01:25 into its procedures and controls
01:26 to ensure the incident is not repeated.
01:30 BLS can obviously speak more into their investigation.
01:33 We have the President, we have confidence
01:35 that this will get done.
