00:00 So I'm with Kevin Knight today, the chair of the parish council here at Station Town.
00:05 Kevin, what's going on here today?
00:07 Well, what we're doing is having the opening of the pump track.
00:12 Just a bit of a background of it.
00:14 Our vice chair, Michelle Farrie, was concerned because the kids were using the unofficial track in the woods.
00:24 It's about a mile and a half from anywhere.
00:26 And thought, if anything happens, it's going to be difficult getting medical assistance to them.
00:32 So she came up with the idea of doing the pump track.
00:36 And then after three years of hard work and heartache, we finally managed to break ground on the 8th of April.
00:49 And this, as you can see, is what the result is.
00:56 We've had a lot of assistance in the way of funding.
01:02 We've had funding from our county councillors, Rob Crute, Stacey Deanley, Troy Allen, the PCC, small town, small villages funding.
01:18 And from the lottery.
01:22 So it went from a dirt track into what we've got now.
01:32 One of the many benefits of the pump track is it's been proved to reduce antisocial behaviour.
01:41 Where they put pump tracks in the areas, it's been reduced by two thirds.
01:47 In Station Town, there's not a lot in here for the kids.
01:51 And to be honest, there's been no investment in Station Town for many years.
01:56 So I think this is the largest investment, especially from the council, that's been here for 30 years.
