00:00Earlier, the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges heard the complaint against Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez
00:06for his humanoid disorderly conduct in a rally in Tagum City.
00:10The one who complained of mayor expulsion of the camera, was the one who was sentenced to death by the congressman.
00:16Tina Panganiban-Perez was the one who was sentenced to death.
00:19The House Committee on Ethics and Privileges started to criticize the humanoid libelous and seditious statement
00:26of Davao Del Norte 1st District Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez in a rally in Tagum City
00:32where Mayor Ray Uy filed a complaint against him.
00:37Earlier, the two faced the hearing of the committee, which was closed to the public.
00:42In addition to Uy's complaint, Alvarez was also absent.
00:46Uy said that even though they've been Alvarez's best friends for a long time,
00:50he won't be able to get past what he did in the rally.
00:53During the rally, the PNP, military, army, Presidente Marcos, to us, that's unacceptable.
01:13Expulsion or being stripped of the camera was what he wanted to be punished for.
01:17That's too much. Let's not do the freedom of speech.
01:23No matter what we say to our officials, he apologized.
01:29The damage has been done.
01:30Is he an accessory?
01:32A true hero.
01:34According to a member of the committee, Alvarez's call to the AFP was heavy,
01:39backed by the President.
01:41They're saying that does not support the administration anymore.
01:46For me, that will even go to the borders of unconstitutionality.
01:55No matter what the punishment, a congressman is hoping that it will be based on the rules of the Camera.
02:01What we don't want to repeat is the decision made by former representative Arnulfo Tevez.
02:15He did not do the right thing, but the basis of the decision was mixed with the use of the terror law.
02:25That's why the credibility of the decision was diminished.
02:32That's why it looked like a political move.
02:37Alvarez faced a hearing, but he did not give a statement to the media.
02:42But according to the chair of the committee,
02:44what happened within the 19th Congress,
02:46by jurisdiction, that will go to the committee.
02:49Earlier, we dismissed an aspect on with regards to continuous absences,
02:57which I have already mentioned to you.
02:59We will proceed because our committee saw that there is a basis or reasons to believe that our committee should investigate.
03:11Before this, Alvarez insisted that the statement was not seditious,
03:15because he mentioned the call for a peaceful way.
03:19For GMA Integrated News, Tina Pangaliban Perez, Nakatutok, 24 Hours.
