00:00We are here with Breeland. How's it going tonight?
00:02It's going really well. It's good to be here.
00:04You were just in a pretty epic group photo with every country artist imaginable.
00:08Tell me a bit about that.
00:09It was great. Honestly, other than Dasha, who I just met tonight,
00:13we've talked on Instagram, but, you know,
00:15Lainey and Nate and Warren Treaty and Rainer,
00:19I don't know who else was in the photo,
00:20but those are all good friends of mine and people that I've written with
00:23and put out music with and shared stages with,
00:25so all of them deserve their props tonight,
00:29and I'm really excited to be introducing Warren Treaty, their family to me,
00:33and they deserve every honor.
00:36Yeah, they are groundbreakers.
00:37Tell me a little bit how you have seen them break ground
00:40over the years in this industry.
00:42Just every time I have seen them open their mouths in public,
00:45everyone stops because they just have,
00:48not to get too spiritual or religious on it,
00:50but they have an anointing on their voices
00:52that really causes people to reflect in a different way
00:57than they do when most people sing,
01:00and I do think it's important for them to be in this space.
01:03They could win in any genre,
01:05and for them to be in country music is so powerful,
01:07and they are so welcome here,
01:09and they definitely are breaking ground.
01:11I mean, their music is fantastic,
01:13their stage presence is incredible,
01:15but also they're even better people than they are artists.
01:17Do you have a favorite memory, not even music industry related,
01:20just maybe on a personal level that you've shared with them?
01:23I mean, a bunch.
01:25Just on a kind of real life note,
01:29Mike is someone that stays in touch
01:33in a way that a lot of other artists don't,
01:34and we both lost our grandmas the same week,
01:38and that was something that we were able to share,
01:39and he's one of the only people I could really talk to about it
01:41in this industry,
01:42so just really, really quality people,
01:45and it makes me emotional to talk about them
01:46because they do feel like family to me.
01:48That's incredible.
01:49I mean, that's the whole thing about the country community, right,
01:51is it really does feel like a community and like family.
01:54100%.
01:54Our cover star, Laney Wilson,
01:56the tagline is country's cool again.
01:58Why do you feel like country's
01:59having such a moment in the spotlight right now?
02:02I think, honestly, it comes down to the songwriting.
02:05It's just really, really great music that's being made.
02:09Obviously, we have a lot of pop stars in this genre,
02:12you know, a lot of country stars that have major pop appeal,
02:15and you see that on the charts,
02:17all of these number ones from different people,
02:19and I just think people are,
02:21the culture and the country and the world,
02:24I think, is really just ready to hear great songwriting again,
02:27and Nashville has that in spades.
02:28So for artists like Laney and Morgan and Bailey
02:33and, you know, all of these people
02:36that are getting top 10 records at Billboard,
02:38it's because these songs are really well written
02:40and they resonate with people far beyond the reach
02:43that we even thought was possible.
02:45So country has always been cool in my book,
02:47but it's definitely cool again
02:49in that it's having a major cultural moment,
02:52and it's due to all of these incredible artists and songwriters
02:54that make the music happen.
02:56That was beautifully said.
02:57Thank you.
02:57You just analyzed an entire cultural moment.
02:59Thank you.
03:00Well, I will let you get in there.
03:01Have so much fun tonight.
03:02For sure, I will.
03:03Thank you.
