Taiwan's defense ministry has reported 45 Chinese aircraft and six vessels operating around Taiwan, just a week before Taiwan inaugurates its new president on May 20th.

Correction: An earlier version of this report stated that Chinese aircraft and ships were in the Taiwan Strait. It has also been updated to reflect that 26 aircraft entered the ADIZ.

00:08The country's defense ministry says 26 aircraft, including fighter jets and drones, entered the country's air defense identification zone, or ADIZ.
00:17That's the highest number so far this year.
00:19These incursions come just a few days before President Lai Ching-tung's inauguration on Monday.
