Senate leadership must intervene in 'PDEA leaks' probe, says House member

House Assistant Majority Leader Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Jil Bongalon is asking the Senate leadership to put its foot down on the "PDEA leaks" inquiry, which he describes as a farce. 00:00Well, of course, what is at stake here is the integrity of the institution.

00:07If we are often able to see and hear this type of investigation in aid of legislation,

00:16we do not get enough evidence and information out of these three hearings conducted by the Senate,

00:28particularly the Committee on Dangerous Drugs.

00:30So, I guess, the Senate leadership has to intervene,

00:35because even members of the Senate have already commented and reacted the way the proceeding is being conducted.

00:44They are saying that the testimonies of the dismissed PDEA agent are not true.

00:50And therefore, what we have right now is a fabricated evidence being presented before a committee hearing

00:57where President Marcos is a professional liar.

01:02I am telling him that he is a pathological liar.

01:05He keeps on lying.

01:07So, with this kind of witness being presented before an investigation,

01:13what is at stake here again is the quality of investigation.

01:17Let us remember, we are doing this in aid of legislation.

01:21So, there should be a clear direction.
