00:00 This is a wonderful example of what the Albanese Government is all about in terms of addressing
00:04 the housing and homelessness crisis facing the country.
00:07 We are putting more than $25 billion so far into addressing housing and homelessness and
00:14 congratulations to Centrecare Evolve, Launceston City Mission and all their partners on this
00:18 wonderful facility here in Yonge Town.
00:21 24 units, one and two bedroom units that are housing people who need housing and that's
00:26 what it's all about.
00:27 These three measures, $9.3 billion for a housing and homelessness agreement, $1 billion for
00:34 new infrastructure to assist with social housing and $1 billion to be available for emergency
00:40 housing and shelter for women and children escaping domestic violence.
00:46 Together these measures make a substantial contribution going forward.
00:52 Prime Minister, the Anglicare snapshot revealed that there is no affordable housing for seniors,
00:59 for disabled renters, for young renters.
01:02 Again, will the Government ensure that there will be affordable rentals?
01:07 Well, that's why we're here announcing more supply.
01:11 We know that the former Government wasn't on the field.
01:16 There was no Housing Australia Future Fund.
01:19 There was no Social Housing Accelerator.
01:21 There was no targeting of housing for women and children escaping domestic violence.
01:26 There was no bill to rent incentives for the private sector.
01:30 There was no Help to Buy scheme.
01:32 We're doing all of these measures with that in mind.
01:36 Close to 90% of Tasmanians will be better off than they would have been under the Morrison
01:43 Government's tax cuts for some, not tax cuts for all.
01:48 Women in particular will be advantaged.
01:51 Young people in particular will be advantaged.
01:53 Some 98% of young people will be better off as a direct result.
01:58 The former Government left people who were earning under $45,000 behind completely.
02:04 We've ensured that everyone gets a tax cut at the same time as real wages are increasing.
02:11 You have real wages increasing.
02:13 You have taxes decreasing because my Government wants people to earn more and wants people
02:19 to keep more of what they earn.
02:21 Peter Dutton wants people to work longer for less.
