00:00 The two major political parties in the country formally joined forces,
00:04 the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats Alliance.
00:10 That's what Alan Francisco is talking about.
00:12 The alliance of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and Lakas CMD
00:18 is an important opportunity for the continuous change of the country.
00:22 That's what President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. said
00:25 when he witnessed the two parties joining forces in the big political party in the Philippines.
00:31 According to President Marquez,
00:33 this event showed the importance of unity.
00:36 This unity was their weapon during the last election
00:40 and they will continue to defend it.
00:42 We are strong because what we are shouting during the campaign is unity.
00:49 That's why we formed what we call the UNITIM.
00:53 And we saw that the people of the country
00:59 accepted our message about unity.
01:03 And besides that,
01:05 when we were successful in our campaign,
01:11 when we were successful in the election,
01:14 we continued our unity
01:21 because we started what we call the whole of government approach
01:26 where all parties, all agencies, all departments of the government
01:32 are moving together.
01:34 And unlike before,
01:37 sometimes these projects are said to be only in DPWH,
01:43 this is in DOH,
01:45 we are not like that anymore.
01:47 We are the only ones.
01:48 He saw the unity of the different agencies of the government
01:52 to improve the lives of the Filipinos.
01:54 President Marquez gave the message
01:56 that the strength of the alliance is important
01:59 in the hands of the lawmakers.
02:01 He will form the Executive and Legislative Branch
02:05 in the implementation of transformative programs
02:07 and government policemen.
02:09 We have to position the Philippines in a way
02:12 that will take full advantage of the new economy.
02:15 And to do that, we have to make some very fundamental
02:22 structural and policy changes.
02:25 We cannot do those policy changes
02:27 without the support of the legislature.
02:30 Legislative support.
02:31 Because of this unity,
02:33 according to the President,
02:34 the assistance to more Filipinos will be delivered faster.
02:38 The question I was asked before I sat down was,
02:42 "What is your dream?
02:44 What is your dream for the Philippines?"
02:48 And my answer was very simple.
02:50 No more hunger.
02:52 It's that simple.
02:53 We have not reached that yet.
02:55 We have not yet reached,
02:58 we have not yet achieved that aspiration.
03:01 But if we stay united,
03:04 if we look at the successes and the progress
03:07 that we have made in the last two years,
03:09 I'm confident that if we maintain that unity
03:13 not only for election purposes,
03:17 but all through the work of service
03:20 that we have taken an oath to do for our people.
03:25 President Marcos is the chairperson
03:28 of the Philippine Federal Party.
03:31 Alan Francisco for Pabansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
