00:00 Prospects of the president's policies and working agenda extending indefinitely went from good to even better
00:06 with this newly formed coalition between the president's political party and Lidakats Christian and Muslim Democrats
00:13 headed by his cousin and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
00:16 Now stronger, the ruling coalition can even reinforce itself into a super merger
00:22 with a party of the former president jumping in, in which the House Speaker did not rule out,
00:27 as our Mela Lesmora dwells on in this report.
00:31 With the signing of the Alianza para sa Bagong Pilipinas Agreement between Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and LACAS CMD,
00:41 House Speaker Martin Romualdez, who also serves as the president of LACAS CMD,
00:45 believes people would soon see a more dynamic, more proactive government.
00:50 President Ferdinand R. Marquez, Jr. serves as the PFP chairman,
00:54 and their alliance is expected to result in the realization of more goals and programs of the government,
00:59 in which more benefits await the citizenry.
01:03 Our agenda is clear.
01:04 We are here to enhance the quality of life of every Filipino.
01:09 We commit to ensuring that the fruits of economic growth are distributed equitably,
01:15 reaching every province and every community.
01:19 We pledge to uphold the highest standards of governance,
01:23 making every decision and action transparent and accountable to the people we serve.
01:29 At the House of Representatives, the number of LACAS CMD members has reached 100,
01:35 while for PFP, just as many LGU officials count for as allies.
01:40 According to House Deputy Speaker J.J. Suarez, amidst various challenges the country is facing right now,
01:46 the collaboration between the two parties is truly significant.
01:50 Will this alliance bring a better tomorrow for the country?
01:56 Yes.
01:57 Will this alliance help in improving the quality of life of our fellow Filipinos?
02:04 Yes.
02:05 Will this alliance ensure that our fellow Filipinos are in a position
02:11 to achieve the projects, programs, and services of the government?
02:17 Yes.
02:18 In an interview with LACAS CMD Chairman Senator Bong Revilla,
02:22 he also emphasized the importance of the alliance signing.
02:25 As for critics, he had this to say.
02:28 I hope that the bashings will stop.
02:32 We will work together because President Bong Bong also wants to unify the country.
02:41 We will work together to help lower the price of rice.
02:52 Since the administration continues to strengthen its force,
02:56 is it possible for them to also form an alliance with the Partido Democratiko Pilipino,
03:00 or PDP, of former President Rodrigo Duterte?
03:04 Romualdez said, "Anything is possible."
03:06 Presidential son and House Senior Deputy Majority Leader Sandro Marcos also agreed with this.
03:12 You know that politics is a game of addition,
03:15 so of course anyone is welcome to join the alliance should they want.
03:18 The lawmaker also has this response to those who continue to attack his parents.
03:23 Well, to tell you the truth, I'm used to it.
03:27 I've been in politics long enough to know that that's how the game works.
03:30 My dad, same thing.
03:33 It's nothing new.
03:35 There have always been accusations hurled.
03:36 There has always been mudslinging.
03:38 So that's nothing new.
03:41 My mother is not quite as used to it as we are, as the both of us.
03:47 So her reaction from that interview, I think that you've all seen,
03:52 is I guess one of a wife who is being protective of her husband.
03:56 So I think we can sympathize in that sense.
03:58 Mel Alasmoraz from the National TV Network for a New and Better Philippines.
