00:00 We will return to this point. Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac. Good morning again Secretary.
00:06 Yes. Good morning to all of our listeners and viewers.
00:10 That's a lot better Secretary. We have cut to the part where you're asking what assistance the government will give to the wives who were affected or hurt by the landslide in Hong Kong.
00:21 Please continue sir.
00:22 Yes. Of course, we are monitoring their situation in the hospital. They're still both in the hospital but recovering in stable condition.
00:31 Their financial assistance was given to the wife by the Mrs.
00:40 But still we are awaiting the full recovery of the husband who underwent an operation.
00:46 We will help them to go home if they want to go home.
00:56 What we need to do is monitor their aftercare. Even after they are released from the hospital, we will monitor their aftercare treatment.
01:09 We will help them with the medication or therapy that they need to undergo if prescribed by the doctor.
01:19 Sec. Are there any other affected women besides the wives?
01:23 So far, that's what we monitored and affected. They are in the mountainous area and the damage in the city is not that bad. Everybody was safe and indoors.
01:42 Right. There's also a severe flood in Brazil and Indonesia. Do you have information if there's an affected woman there?
01:51 Yes. I've managed to coordinate with USECED and the DFA because we don't have a migrant workers office in the two places, Brazil and Indonesia.
02:03 The information I have is that there are no Filipinos in the area where the floods hit Brazil and Rio del Sol. Here in South Sulawesi, Rio Grande do Sul is the name in Brazil.
02:24 Here in South Sulawesi, where the floods and landslides hit, we haven't been able to find any Filipinos affected there. This is a provincial part of Indonesia.
02:36 We're still awaiting further updates. We hope it stays that way, that there are no Filipinos affected.
02:43 Secretary, regarding the delivery of 100 PINAY caregivers to South Korea, our countrymen are asking how they can choose who will apply.
02:52 Yes. We have a selection process that is being conducted. This is just 100. This is an on-pilot test under the existing agreement of the employment permit system with Korea.
03:06 This program will provide work for Filipinos who will take care of children, infants in Korea. So childcare essentially.
03:23 So you're looking for female caregivers?
03:25 Well, not really. There's no such specification. But it also depends on who the Korean employer will choose.
03:38 The caregivers must present their test, the NC2 caregiving certificate. There are medical tests that will be conducted including pre-departure and post-arrival education and training.
03:55 The Korean families are also included in the orientation sessions. There's an application process on the Facebook page of the DMW, Pre-employment and Government Placement Bureau.
04:10 Is there a minimum skills requirement or academic achievement requirement, sir?
04:16 Yes. There's the NC2 caregiving certificate. That's required. Go to the Facebook page of the DMW, Pre-employment and Government Placement Bureau.
04:31 There are step-by-step process and requirements.
04:35 All right. Of course, go to the legitimate pages. There might be scammers there and they will do work that shouldn't be done.
04:44 Secretary, thank you very much. Thank you for joining us this morning.
04:47 Yes. Thank you very much. To all of you listening and watching, thank you very much.
04:51 We have talked to DMW Secretary Hans Kakdak.
