00:00 Residents of a village in Taguig are facing double the amount of permission.
00:05 After they were cut off from the supply of tap water,
00:08 they are paying double the amount of money in the actual bill,
00:11 but the group who were caught in the act are not remitting the money,
00:15 so the debt to Manila Water increased to 5 million pesos.
00:19 This is Baki Pulido.
00:24 It's been six days since almost 2,000 residents of Palar Village, Taguig City,
00:30 lost their water, so some of them were affected by my treatment.
00:33 It's really hard, especially since we both have depression.
00:38 I have high blood pressure.
00:42 Lourdes and Wilfredo are 60 years old,
00:45 but they are enduring the day just to be able to donate to the well.
00:48 I'm really tired. It's only 8.30, so I'm going to return my water.
00:56 It's really hard because we don't have much water.
00:59 The family of the VM can't take a bath and is buying bottled water
01:04 because the tap water is not clean.
01:07 It's really hard because we have children.
01:16 What can we do? We have seniors.
01:20 Manila Water ordered the tap water in their area
01:24 because of the debt of more than 5 million pesos from their People's Organization,
01:28 Inner Port Neighborhood.
01:30 The group was caught and paid to Manila Water
01:33 because they have bulk metering or they don't have their own metro,
01:37 because the owner of their land is the Basis Conversion Development Authority or BCDA.
01:42 Manila Water is paying double the amount to them,
01:46 but Inner Port Neighborhood is not remitting their payment.
01:50 They paid P650,000 last week,
01:54 but Manila Water said that the capital is not enough to reconnect again.
02:00 Residents are hoping for a water truck to be paraded, but some are complaining.
02:04 We were not given a water truck.
02:09 They always pass by at the end.
02:11 The barangay said that they will supply water in the afternoon and evening.
02:15 There will be six stations that will provide free water.
02:19 There is tap water in other places in Metro Manila.
02:22 The water level in Angat Dam is now lower than 185 meters,
02:27 which is being taken by the Domestic Water of Metro Manila and irrigation in Bulacan and Pampanga.
02:32 That's why the DANR is prohibiting gulf cores from using water from water concessionaires.
02:38 Most of the gulf cores have their own water tank.
02:42 It's not just gulf cores.
02:44 There are gardens, cleaning in clubhouse, etc.
02:49 I hope they will help in saving water consumption.
02:54 In some houses, they are hoping to use buckets, not hose, for watering or cleaning the car.
03:00 They need to save money to avoid rotational water interruption because it is expected that the rain will fill Angat Dam by July.
