00:00 Hi, this is Jaina Acharya Sayaga from Outlook India. I am currently reporting from Hathras
00:07 constituency which goes to polls in the third place on May 7. The 2020 gang wave in Hathras
00:18 stirred anger across the nation and made international headlines. But the anger seems to have died
00:25 down now with the victim's family still awaiting justice. While the Valmiki community in Hathras
00:31 to which the victim belongs seems to think that the incident could be a major poll issue
00:38 this time, other communities don't seem to think so. I also travelled to Samhain where
00:44 interesting Muslim voter dynamics are at play. Samajwadi Party's Zia-Urmeen Hanwal is looking
00:51 to make his Lok Sabha debut, contesting from the Samhar seat which has been a stronghold
00:57 of his grandfather Shafiq-ur-Rehman-Barkh who passed away recently. In a historic moment
01:03 on Thursday, Zia-ur-Rehman-Barkh ended his family's long-standing dispute with the current
01:09 MLA Nawab Iqbal Mehmed who is also from the same party. The dispute had divided voters
01:17 for a very long time. So with the dispute now ending, the locals think that the move
01:23 is going to favour the party. I also travelled to Badainu where major poll issues of underdevelopment
01:32 of roads and lack of health facilities came to the fore with voters saying that they will
01:40 vote for whoever votes for them irrespective of which party they belong to.
