Solider reunites with his friend after a poignant run honoring fallen soldiers

Craig Lewis, known as Lewy, undertook the London Marathon with a poignant mission.

As he reached mile 16 of the race, he carried 45.7 kilograms on his back, symbolizing the 457 soldiers who had lost their lives in Afghanistan.

He made this effort to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.

He managed to raise £14,000 for this noble cause, honoring the memory of those who sacrificed their lives in service.

When Lewy returned after the completion of his mission, his friend was in for a heartwarming surprise.

She, with the help of Lewy's friend Helen and his wife, orchestrated a reunion.

She promised Lewy's wife that she would be there to greet him at the finish line; she kept her word.
