After 15 days, Dubai's rains have returned, with the issuance of an Orange Alert for Adverse Weather Conditions. Unfavorable weather has caused major disruptions to flight operations and rain services.

Additionally, the MeT predicts that although it will affect other parts of Asia, the weather will start to improve on May 4.

00:00Heavy rainfall has returned to the United Arab Emirates, with several flights being
00:12cancelled while people and students have been asked to work and study from home.
00:17The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Friday as heavy rains and
00:22thunderstorms lashed the UAE last night.
00:26The UAE authorities have also asked students to start distance learning, while companies
00:30have been asked to allow people to work from home for a short period of time.
00:34The Knowledge and Human Development Authority of the UAE has announced that the decision
00:39applies to all private schools, nurseries and universities too.
00:43Dubai announced work from home for government employees on 2nd and 3rd May, whereas parks
00:48and beaches have been shut.
00:50Talking of flights, major flight routes have been disrupted.
00:53Emirates have cancelled several flights due to bad weather across the UAE on Thursday.
00:59A FlyDubai spokesperson told the local media that adverse weather conditions in Dubai on
01:05Thursday have caused severe delay in their operations, whereas India's IndiGo has also
01:11stated that the flight operations have been affected due to bad weather in Dubai, Sharjah
01:16and Ras Al Khaimah and also Abu Dhabi.
01:20Vistara and SpiceJet have also stated that the departure, arrival and flights will be
01:24impacted due to the inclement weather.
01:27In April, flooding overwhelmed UAE's drainage system and also the airport.
01:32Many residents lost their belongings when their homes flooded and many cars were also
01:37destroyed.
01:38The Dubai International Airport, the world's busiest for international travel, ended up
01:42needing 22 tankers with vacuum pumps to get water off its ground.
01:47Friday can be generally fair and partly weather is expected over northeastern and southeastern
01:51areas.
01:52The National Centre of Meteorology has expected the night to be humid with a gradual rise
01:57in temperature from Saturday.
01:59The temperature will again surge to 38 degrees and 35 degrees in Abu Dhabi and Dubai respectively.
02:05In addition, the system responsible for adverse weather conditions in UAE is now moving eastwards
02:10towards Pakistan and India.
02:12Though weakened by rains and adverse conditions, the weather can still impact parts of the
02:17east.
