00:15 Miss Universe 2023, Shaniece Palacios,

00:19 has a legacy she wants to leave after her reign.

00:26 The reigning Miss Universe, Shaniece Palacios of Nicaragua is here!

00:31 All of you guys, the Philippines people,

00:34 is amazing, humble people,

00:36 and makes me feel so grateful for all of you.

00:39 Shaniece is known for her Filipino food,

00:42 like beef mechado, lechon halo-halo, and chicharon.

00:46 Shaniece feels at home in the Philippines

00:49 and has visited other countries in Asia.

00:53 As the reigning Miss Universe,

00:55 she wants to leave a legacy.

00:57 I want to be remembered as the Miss Universe for the people,

01:03 and of the people.

01:07 And my legacy is the beginning of the new era.

01:12 And her message to the women.

01:15 Whatever you want to be in your life, you can do that.

01:20 And your dreams come true when you work hard for that.

01:25 Miss Eco International is back in the Philippines.

01:28 She's the first runner-up of Chantal Nicole Schmid.

01:31 She says her struggle is real for using the coronavirus.

01:34 She was stranded at a Dubai airport

01:38 and got sick on the day of the preliminary competition.

01:41 Right before every single cut, I was so nervous.

01:45 But I would tell myself, whatever happens, I'm happy to be here.

01:48 I'm proud of myself.

01:49 And I think that's what got me further and further.

01:52 She's also happy with her friends who joined the pageant.

01:55 What's next for Chantal?

01:57 I definitely need to focus on myself and my studies.

02:01 I'm still in law school, so maybe once I complete that,

02:04 I can think about joining another pageant.

02:06 But for now, I have no plans.
