00:00 Rangers starting pitcher Corey
00:01 Gloober will be out for at least
00:04 four weeks. This news comes after
00:06 an MRI revealed a grade to tear
00:08 in his shoulder muscle.
00:10 Joining me now for more on this
00:12 from inside the Rangers is Chris
00:14 Halleck and S size fantasy and
00:16 gambling analyst Sean Childs.
00:18 Chris after 18 pitches and just one
00:20 inning Gloober was out of the game
00:22 Sunday and now we're learning about
00:24 the severity of his injury with
00:26 Gloober out. How does this affect
00:28 the Rangers in an already short
00:30 and six engaged season? Well,
00:32 it definitely hurts them a lot just
00:34 because in the shortened season,
00:36 you know, and expanded playoffs.
00:37 It looked like the Rangers were.
00:39 I want to say a shoe in for the playoffs,
00:42 but their chances definitely went way up
00:44 and the top three in their rotation with
00:47 Lance Lynn Mike Minor and Corey Kluber.
00:49 That was a really potentially really
00:51 good three headed monster at the top
00:53 of their rotation and now with Kluber
00:55 out for at least four weeks he's
00:57 got no throwing so that doesn't
00:59 mean he's returning in four weeks.
01:01 That means there's going to have
01:02 to be a rehab process as well.
01:04 Who knows how long he's going to be out?
01:06 He could be out until maybe the
01:08 last couple of weeks of the season,
01:10 so it'll be really,
01:11 really interesting to see how and
01:13 when he's able to come back and the
01:15 Rangers are going to be put to the test.
01:17 You know they're looking at Colby Allard
01:19 right now, one of their young pitchers
01:21 to fill that role in the rotation.
01:23 Right now they really like a lot of his stuff,
01:25 but it's really the resume
01:27 that Corey Kluber has.
01:28 So Sean, if Kluber comes back and
01:30 that's a big if at this point it
01:33 would likely be as a reliever at
01:35 this point is he worth holding on
01:37 to for fantasy owners or what are
01:39 the fantasy implications of this injury?
01:41 The 60 game season is is a you gotta
01:44 really think quick on your feet and
01:46 anybody that's that's really not a stud
01:48 player and most likely a bat if they're
01:50 going to be only out for two weeks,
01:52 you can most likely hang on to him.
01:54 If he's not out for two weeks,
01:56 he's probably going to be out for a month.
01:58 It's a devastating injury for fantasy team.
02:00 He's probably a six rounder in
02:02 the high stakes market,
02:03 but he was considered, you know,
02:04 a second ace,
02:05 but he's a clear cut for me unless
02:06 you play in a league that has an IR spot.
02:09 So I can't see holding on to him.
02:10 It's just you need to flip these
02:12 pictures in and out and you gotta be
02:14 really, really quick on the waiver wire
02:16 because it's probably going to be the
02:17 best pictures available next week.
02:19 You know,
02:19 because it's early in the season and
02:21 people aren't really sure what
02:22 everybody is going to do,
02:23 but you know, I have a IR spot.
02:25 Alright, Chris Sean,
02:25 thanks so much for your insight on this.
02:27 Appreciate it guys.
