00:24 Good morning and welcome to Rise and Shine Philippines, Doc.
00:29 Hello, good morning. Hi.
00:31 Thank you for the invitation.
00:33 How are you?
00:35 I'm okay, Doc. I'm fine. I'm Diane Quirer and this is Audrey Gonaceta.
00:38 Alright, Doc, first of all, what is the common sign that makes an individual's face age quickly?
00:47 Okay, so, this is how it is. We all age.
00:53 The sign of aging is, first, the loss of skin components such as collagen and elastin,
01:02 and the loss of ingredients under it.
01:06 For example, as we age, our bones, musculature, and fat disappear.
01:13 So, when that disappears, the skin on our face starts to sag.
01:22 In addition, due to sun damage or exposure to pollution, the skin also gets damaged.
01:30 So, those are the reasons why our skin ages.
01:35 Well, Doc, there are skin damage that are temporary, right?
01:39 But what are the main symptoms or signs that our skin ages slowly?
01:47 And how can we slow this down?
01:51 Okay, so, one sign that we age is that our skin becomes patchy.
02:01 The color is no longer uniform. There are either dark spots or black spots.
02:09 To avoid that, the best thing to do is to avoid the sun.
02:15 But to avoid the sun, you have to put sunscreen.
02:21 The most basic thing is to put sunscreen SPF 50 and above 30 minutes prior to your exposure.
02:29 You have to reapply every two hours.
02:32 And there's a minimum amount of sunscreen also.
02:35 Doc, I'm confused. I just had a problem with our signal.
02:40 The sunscreen is also good for slowing down aging.
02:47 Although, some of us want to age gracefully.
02:50 They don't want to do routine activities.
02:54 But if you want to slow down your skin age, for aesthetic purposes, why not?
02:58 But sometimes, there are lucky people when it comes to jeans.
03:02 Even if you're getting old, you still look good.
03:08 The compliment is that you look younger.
03:11 I want to ask you this later, Doc.
03:14 Is it effective to put ice on your face?
03:18 Oh, Doc, you're asking if putting ice on your face is okay?
03:22 Ice on your face?
03:25 Okay, actually, if you put ice on your face, it helps decrease inflammation in our skin.
03:31 It also moisturizes our skin because it's a bit wet.
03:36 For example, if you look tired, you can use this.
03:43 It helps to look good, but it's not too much for anti-aging.
03:50 Alright, Doc. You mentioned sunscreen.
03:53 Are there other skin care routines that you can share that we can do to slow down our skin age?
04:02 Okay, so aside from sunscreen, as I mentioned earlier,
04:07 the components underneath the skin are also important, such as the musculature, bone, and fat.
04:13 What's important is that you can actually do some facial yoga exercises.
04:19 Or you can do some treatments to help stimulate the musculature underneath your skin.
04:24 That will delay the atrophy of the muscles under the skin.
04:29 And you'll end up delaying your aging process.
04:33 Another important thing to do is actually very basic.
04:36 You have to get enough sleep, eat enough sugar,
04:43 because that causes damage to your skin if you, for example, eat a lot of sweets.
04:49 Because the sugar destroys the elastin and collagen of our skin,
04:53 and that leads to sagging of the skin and wrinkles on our skin.
04:59 Sleep is very important because the more you are rested, the healthier your skin is.
05:08 Get enough sleep.
05:10 That's also important, Doc.
05:14 Don't get too fat.
05:16 For our RSP, who are around my age,
05:23 What's the boundary?
05:24 40 and above.
05:26 Is there a particular age when anti-aging products should be started?
05:32 Actually, for example, if you're talking about sunscreen,
05:37 the earlier you start, the better.
05:39 Because you protect yourself earlier on.
05:42 Sunscreen is a cumulative damage.
05:46 That's damage through time.
05:48 When you start protecting yourself early,
05:51 or you start your day early,
05:53 the overall damage you get from your skin is less.
05:58 So, start early.
06:01 So, Doc mentioned sunscreen, get enough sleep, lessen your sugar intake.
06:05 But some people like to take botox.
06:09 Some people take supplements.
06:12 I also hear that it's a stem cell.
06:14 What can you say about these procedures, Doc?
06:18 Botox is a generic term.
06:26 It's a neuromodulator.
06:27 It helps stop the muscles from contracting.
06:30 They're actually very good in decreasing wrinkles of expression.
06:39 For example, on the forehead, on the crow's feet.
06:41 Yes, it's actually okay.
06:44 If you're really serious in your anti-aging journey,
06:49 they're a very nice treatment to try out.
06:55 I'm curious, Dian.
06:58 What do you use, Doc Michael?
07:00 Ha ha ha!
07:02 Very unlooking, huh?
07:04 Secret.
07:05 Okay, we'll talk to him again.
07:09 What other secrets can you share with us to make you look younger?
07:14 I'm happy when you say you're already 40.
07:17 You're already 40?
07:18 That's surprising.
07:19 I hope what he says is true.
07:21 Sometimes, it's just a guess.
07:22 But let's follow the tips that Doc Maño gave us.
07:25 We can really slow down our aging.
07:29 Thank you so much for sharing with us the information about
07:33 the anti-aging treatment that Doc Michael Maño can use.
07:38 Thanks, Doc.
07:39 You're most welcome.
07:40 Thank you.
