NFL Players protesting police violence.
Transcript
00:00As protests all over the country continue in the wake of the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor more NFL players are starting to participate in the cause against police brutality.
00:11Among these players some notable Carolina Panthers have protested recently in the Charlotte community.
00:16Joining me now is Panthers reporter Jason Hewitt.
00:19And Jason being involved in the community is nothing new for this team.
00:22But tell me a little bit about this justice walk and some of the players who have participated in it recently.
00:29Absolutely. So the justice walk was against police brutality and it was set in Dilworth Myers Park.
00:37And among the players who participated were Shaq Thompson, Trey Boston, Chris Manhurty and Thomas and even Andre Smith from the Ravens also participated.
00:47And you mentioned in Dilworth Myers Park. That's an affluent Charlotte neighborhood. What is the importance of it being held there?
00:54Well with Matt Rule coming in and having character being like a really essential part of the organization.
01:01I feel like having this protest in this neighborhood allows all these players to show up and show out and be leaders in the community.
01:11Jason Hewitt thank you so much for the time and the insight.
