00:00 Yeah, I had a great day of practice today.
00:03 Guys are excited.
00:04 Another great opportunity.
00:05 Another really good football team.
00:07 Coach Fuente has done a really nice job.
00:09 I know he's had to manage the COVID.
00:11 And I give him a lot of respect and credit.
00:14 He's had a bunch of guys sit out of games.
00:16 And he's managed to win two.
00:17 And he played a really good North Carolina team.
00:20 Fight back at the end and have a chance to win it.
00:23 I know it's been hard for him.
00:24 And I hope all his players are healthy.
00:26 And everybody's safe over there.
00:28 Him and Coach Cornelison, obviously,
00:30 on the offensive side of the ball, do a really good job.
00:34 I think it starts really with their offensive line.
00:36 They're huge.
00:37 I think every one of them is over 300 pounds.
00:39 And they're really long.
00:40 They have two really good backs.
00:42 I believe both of them were transfers, 21 and 6.
00:44 21 to me is a pro back.
00:46 He's a special player.
00:47 Breaks a lot of tackles.
00:48 Has speed returns.
00:51 So really talented.
00:53 I believe they score 43 points a game.
00:54 Run for 300 yards a game, which those are like video game
00:58 stats.
00:59 I don't know if I've ever coached against a team that
01:00 ran for 300 yards a game before.
01:02 So certainly, they've done a great job.
01:04 Quarterback, obviously, they play with a bunch,
01:07 2, 3, and 4.
01:08 Looks like 2 will play against us.
01:12 I think he won six games last year when he came in.
01:14 And obviously, he drove them back.
01:16 I think they had 300 yards of offense
01:17 in the second half last week.
01:19 So really good job.
01:20 But we've got to be alert for all of them.
01:22 They're good players.
01:22 They're tough players.
01:23 They run the ball.
01:24 They throw the ball.
01:25 And then 11 and 83 on the outside.
01:28 Dangerous receivers.
01:30 And maybe one guy who's not talked about enough
01:32 is their tight end number 82.
01:35 He might be the best tight end we've seen all year.
01:38 Looks like another NFL player.
01:39 Long, fast, blocks well, dangerous on the outside.
01:43 He gives them the ability to line them up as a wide out
01:46 and play inside a tight end.
01:47 So a ton of respect for their offense, for their coaches.
01:50 Obviously, I can speak more about their offense
01:53 because I spend more time watching them early in the week,
01:55 as I've told you guys.
01:56 But a lot of respect for them.
01:58 Coach Hamilton on defense.
02:00 He's done a good job.
02:01 It's Virginia Tech.
02:02 They've played good defense throughout the years.
02:04 And he's continuing to do that.
02:05 They have two good defensive ends.
02:07 Their linebackers seem to be the heart and soul
02:08 of their defense.
02:10 I know that they've rotated a bunch of players
02:11 and been hurting secondary.
02:13 I credit them for doing such a good job piecing it
02:15 all together.
02:16 They fight and they scrap.
02:18 And they play a good scheme.
02:19 They play a lot of middle closed defense.
02:23 So they load up the box.
02:24 And I also believe they're--
02:27 I think they're like fourth in the country in sacks.
02:29 So they got guys who can get after the quarterback.
02:31 And then on special teams, Coach Shebest.
02:34 To me, they're the most well-coached special teams
02:37 unit that we've played thus far.
02:39 And their kicker is special now.
02:41 I mean, I know the kid last week hit that one from about 70.
02:45 But this kid is-- this kid's got a big time leg.
02:47 They played really hard in all phases.
02:50 So again, we're excited to go out there.
02:52 I've never been there before.
02:54 And there'll be fans there for the first time.
02:56 In my coaching career, I'll get to coach with some fans there.
02:59 So that'll be a little bit different for me.
03:04 But our guys are focused.
03:05 We have to get better.
03:06 I'm still going to make this about us.
03:09 But a ton of respect for Virginia Tech, their staff.
03:11 And I'm excited to play the game.
