Jeff Hafley talks about how he gets ready for a game
Transcript
00:00 How I prepare for a game is really throughout the week, Kevin.
00:05 I kind of have a routine when I watch Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
00:10 Thursday, Friday.
00:11 And then the dark place is just kind of like me getting in a zone where I just
00:16 feel locked in and confident.
00:18 And I know I've done everything that I could have done to prepare myself for
00:22 the game.
00:23 And game day you just go to that place and there's such a level of focus and
00:28 there's such a level of, you're not gonna flinch, you're not gonna,
00:33 there's no nerves anymore.
00:35 You're just fired up and you're coaching and you're playing ball.
00:39 That's all it really is.
00:41 And it's doing everything I can to make sure the team is prepared and
00:45 it doesn't end, right?
00:46 Like, I feel like my mind doesn't shut off all week,
00:49 whether it's talking to the staff, talking to the players,
00:51 thinking about what to say to the players, thinking about defense,
00:54 thinking about game management, thinking about special teams.
00:57 And like Saturday, it's just, it's done.
01:00 It's like all the work's done.
01:01 So now it's like lock in, let's go and let it rip.
01:04 And that's just, that's kind of how I build up all week.
01:07 And I try to talk to the players the same way, just build it up all week, man,
01:11 just work, put it in, do the best you can.
01:14 And when you get to Saturday, go into that place and just go.
01:17 You're getting me excited talking about it now, man.
