NCAA President Mark Emmert: No Fall NCAA Championships in 2020

00:00NCAA President Mark Emmert has announced there will be no fall championships in 2020.

00:07Emmert said in a statement, quote, we cannot now at this time have fall NCAA championships

00:14because there's not enough schools participating. The Board of Governors said if you don't have

00:19half of the schools playing a sport, you can't have a legitimate championship. Sadly, tragically,

00:26that's going to be the case this fall. Full stop. The NCAA does not govern FBS college football,

00:33leaving its immediate future still uncertain. But we now know there will be no fall championships

00:40in 2020 for all NCAA Division One sports. Fall sports will still be allowed to train in practice,

00:48and Emmert is trying to figure out a way for the NCAA to play fall sports in the spring.
