00:08 And Skyler, we finally have an update on Baker Mayfield's potential trade status

00:14 with the Carolina Panthers.

00:16 So what is the latest?

00:18 >> Yeah, there's a growing interest for sure for the Panthers and

00:20 a lot of that is due to the amount of options that are left on the table for

00:23 them.

00:23 Obviously, they don't wanna go into the season with just Sam Darnham,

00:26 PJ Walker.

00:27 Well, it's either gonna come via the draft, free agency or trade.

00:31 It's gotta come from one of those three areas, obviously.

00:33 And I think that we'll see an addition to that room over the next week or so.

00:37 But they don't wanna make a move for a guy like Baker Mayfield or

00:40 even a Jimmy Garoppolo before the first round of the NFL draft.

00:44 They wanna see what's there at number six.

00:46 If the guy that they love the most at quarterback is there,

00:49 they'll potentially take him.

00:51 If not, then they can go that route in a couple days later.

00:54 So I think they wanna stay patient, see what happens in the draft, and

00:58 then go from there.

00:59 >> Let's talk about that number six overall pick because Sports Illustrated's

01:03 Albert Breer reported on Monday that some NFL teams are not convinced that

01:08 the Panthers will select a quarterback at number six overall.

01:12 So how do you envision the Panthers utilizing their first pick?

01:16 >> It's really tough.

01:17 I don't think anyone knows what they're gonna do.

01:19 If it were up to me, I would take an offensive tackle.

01:21 I mean, this is a problem that they've had for the last eight years.

01:23 Eight guys in eight years have left tackle.

01:26 They need to figure that spot out.

01:28 I get the quarterback position is the most important on the field, but

01:31 they're just not that one guy that sticks out.

01:33 If they're gonna take one, it might be Malik Willis cuz he is the most upside of

01:36 anybody in this class.

01:38 But I just feel like they would lean more towards an offensive tackle.

01:42 But again, it's gonna depend on who's there.

01:44 If the three tackles are off the board and Cross, Iquanu, and Evan Neal, and

01:48 Malik Willis is sitting there, it might be hard for them to pass up.

01:50 As Scott Federer said a couple of weeks ago,

01:52 they're gonna keep swinging until they find their gut.
