00:02 - All right, we're here in Aventura, Florida
00:10 where the Eagles are staying for their joint practices
00:12 with the Dolphins.
00:13 We've got five takeaways on Philly.
00:14 Takeaway number one,
00:15 Jalen Hurts is taking another step as a quarterback.
00:18 And one thing that's interesting about him,
00:20 he's improving in areas where it's difficult
00:21 for a young quarterback to improve.
00:23 His accuracy is better, his pocket presence is better,
00:25 his anticipation is better.
00:27 And he's taking steps as a leader too
00:28 in setting the tone for his teammates.
00:30 Takeaway number two,
00:31 Cam Juergens has really stood out as a rookie.
00:34 Rare combination of size and athleticism
00:36 for a young center.
00:37 The bad news, and this is a champagne problem to have,
00:40 they don't have a spot for him to start at,
00:42 but they do feel like he could start
00:43 for a lot of different teams in the league
00:45 and will be a worthy successor for Jason Kelsey.
00:47 Takeaway number three,
00:49 Dallas Goddard's probably been the best player in camp.
00:51 He's led the Eagles in touches through four weeks
00:54 and he's really truly turned into that two-way tight end
00:57 that they had for so many years
00:58 with Zach Ertz out there.
00:59 With Ertz gone, that's obviously key,
01:02 having a player who could move into that number one role
01:04 like Goddard is going to do this year.
01:06 Takeaway number four,
01:07 the Georgia defenders are very interesting.
01:09 Jordan Davis on the defensive line coming in.
01:12 Looks like they're gonna be able to move him around
01:15 on different spots in the line on third down.
01:17 It's gonna give Jonathan Gannon great flexibility,
01:19 something you don't normally get with a 340-pounder.
01:22 And then N'Kobe Dean,
01:23 they're waiting for him to see it just a little bit faster,
01:25 but they can see his instincts and his smarts.
01:27 And one thing that's really helped
01:29 is that Khazir White has had a really strong camp
01:31 playing next to TJ Edwards,
01:33 so they don't feel the need to push Dean out there too early.
01:36 And finally, takeaway number five,
01:37 if there is a similarity between this team
01:40 and the 2017 team that won a championship,
01:42 it's strength in the lines of scrimmage.
01:44 And one thing I know that staff feels
01:46 really fortunate to have
01:47 is a bunch of players who've been in Philly for 10 years
01:51 to lead those groups at such key spots.
01:53 It's Kelsey at center, it's Lane Johnson at tackle,
01:55 Brandon Graham on the edge on defense,
01:57 Fletcher Cox at defensive tackle,
01:59 and a great group of young guys
02:00 coming up underneath those guys
02:01 with those four to lead them.
02:03 They're really confident
02:04 that the young guys are gonna develop.
02:05 Reporting from Eagles Camp, I'm Albert Breer.
