People have their say about controversial Kettering Energy Park development at Finedon drop-in consultation

00:12 Yeah, I'm entirely against this development. I think it's a wrong solution in the wrong place.
00:19 Even myself, I'm not against logistic science. I just don't think it should be cited here for legal reasons.
00:26 I don't think it should be a top quality outage on that.
00:31 I think some of the justifications are incorrect.
00:37 I think justifying the basis is so, doesn't wash the name of, say, a level of disability, freeing it.
00:45 I think we've got a major problem in infrastructure and our junctions and clean structures and that,
00:51 and especially the traffic implications of going through high-rises.
00:55 I don't think we've remodelled properly. A lot of the modelling we've had to date, and we've had to do more banking to date,
01:00 we haven't got the ability to bypass this, basically, and surround it by new infrastructure.
01:05 And if we've got 4,000 people going to go to work and pass every day there, where are they living?
01:10 Where's the school bus? Where's the doctors? And how are they going to get there?
01:14 And those poor transport isn't big enough. You can't get a bus, a welling bus, and find them.
01:18 It goes through worse than a hospital. So, if there's 4,000 people coming in by car,
01:23 a lot of them are going to be feeling so sorry for them.
01:25 I oppose the way that the plan is being developed. Although they talk about consultation,
01:31 it's been a very poor consultation. We were told it's an energy park, the Petra Energy Park.
01:38 First thing, it's not in Petra. Secondly, it's not an energy park in the way that you would expect.
01:44 I would expect an energy park to be not producing green green energy,
01:49 putting that into the grid to be of benefit to local people.
01:54 Or at least the grid itself is being provided power for warehousing,
02:00 and that was never really mentioned on the initiative.
02:03 Axia as a whole has done its fair share of providing warehousing.
02:08 We don't need, there is no genuine need for warehouse employment in this area.
02:13 [Background noise]
02:21 If there's a demand for this, I think we have to meet those demands,
02:25 because logistics and transport have to play to the economy.
02:29 If you've got to site it in the right place, it's not here.
02:32 There's no intermodal layout here that the plan has proposed.
02:36 So I think it's the wrong solution.
02:38 The plan needs changing. This is at the moment, it hasn't been put in the form of a plan application.
02:44 It is just an outline master plan that has to be agreed with the community,
02:50 that it's going to be affected by it.
02:52 The meeting yesterday was very clear.
02:54 Warehousing at 25 metres tall is unacceptable in that area.
