The Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup Car is Hyundai's attempt to make an accessible electric race car.

Its price tag of just over $100,000 makes it a relative bargain in the high-stakes world of motorsports.
Hyundai knocked it out of the park with the Ioniq 5 N, turning this beautiful hatch-cum-crossover into a hot ride suitable for drivers looking to have fun.

The Ioniq 5 eN1 Cup Car certainly looks the part, with its imposing spoiler, wide wheel arches and stripped-down interior. Equipped with slick tires and dual motors, it delivers an impressive total power of 641 horsepower (478 kW / 650 PS).

However, power is stored in an 84 kWh battery pack. This means that even though Hyundai has stripped the Ioniq 5N eN1 Cup Car of all its luxuries, it still weighs 4,343 lbs (1,790 kg), so it's not exactly a lightweight vehicle.

As the Ioniq 5 N street car proves, all those numbers are far less important than the car's driving feel.

The Hyundai race car will also have some nice features like synthetic powertrain noise that will help provide drivers with an auditory clue as to what the vehicle is doing. The Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup Car will also feature a boost button that can only be applied a few times per race to ease passing while rewarding tactical driving. Best of all, the Ioniq 5N eN1 Cup Car is relatively inexpensive as is. The price tag of less than €100,000 (about $106,500 at current exchange rates) might not sound cheap, but as Kew points out, it's a bargain compared to the Hyundai Elantra race car, which costs around €140,000 (about $149,100). spare engines and expensive racing fuel are also needed.
