Hungarian voters tell Euronews they are sceptical about what voting in the upcoming European Elections can accomplish.
Transcript
00:00 Hungarian public media dominates the election campaign for the European Parliament.
00:05 Many form their image of the EU on this basis.
00:09 Among voters we interviewed in southern Hungary,
00:12 we met some who do not believe that an election can change anything,
00:16 and others who said many didn't have the time to be properly informed.
00:22 We have to create an opinion, we have to talk about it,
00:25 I don't know, at home, I don't know, but this is not how it works.
00:29 It's not a circus to put up a poster on every corner,
00:32 and then, "Okay, this is it, because this is what everyone says."
00:35 Many people here would not vote.
00:38 I have spoken to many people who would not vote.
00:41 I don't know.
00:42 No, we don't care.
00:44 They say it can't be changed.
00:47 Some say younger people are the ones who care about EU politics.
00:51 Many people think they know who they are, and they don't talk about it.
00:55 I say it again, I see that the younger people are more open to their opinion.
01:02 This isn't true for all.
01:03 How much do you follow EU politics?
01:05 Not much, honestly, not much.
01:09 And you're not interested at all?
01:11 Not really, not really.
01:14 How old are you?
01:16 19.
01:17 We spoke to someone who believes it is vital for as many people as possible to vote on the 9th of June.
01:23 Think about it, what does a person want to do in Hungary?
01:30 Hungary is a place in Europe, within Europe.
01:34 We are European.
01:35 Where do you think Hungary should be?
