00:00 "Who is that under there?"
00:01 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most
00:11 unexpected and hilarious cameos on SNL.
00:13 "Please give it up. Two exciting entertainers
00:16 performing together for the very first time."
00:19 Number 30. Daniel Craig. When Rami Malek and Kenan Thompson audition to play a music icon,
00:25 they try to match Prince's singular energy.
00:28 "So the only way to settle this is to have a prince off."
00:30 "A prince off, sir?"
00:32 "What the hell is a prince off?"
00:34 The two each put their own spin on the musician until Daniel Craig interrupts them.
00:38 Thinking he's auditioning to play a literal prince,
00:40 the James Bond star arrives in his own silly outfit.
00:43 "I'm sorry. Sorry, Daniel Craig."
00:45 "Yeah, to audition for the part of the prince."
00:47 The British performer is also game for anything with a goofy appearance.
00:51 He's not afraid to make fun of himself, showing that he doesn't take his profession too seriously.
00:55 His impressions end up winning over the audience in a major way,
00:58 stealing the sketch and the role. Craig reminds people of his comedy chops.
01:03 "How was that?"
01:04 "That was bad. But you're James Bond, so you got the part."
01:07 Number 29. Glenn Powell. In this monologue,
01:12 Sydney Sweeney pokes fun at her celebrity status and personal life. One of the funniest moments
01:17 comes when she addresses her rumored affair with co-star Glenn Powell.
01:20 "That's obviously not true. Me and my fiancé produced a movie together,
01:26 and he was there the entire shoot."
01:28 This leads to a hilarious cutaway, with Powell there to deliver a silent performance.
01:33 "He even came here tonight to support me. Can we, uh, cut to him?"
01:36 It's nice to see these Anyone But You stars still working together and playing pranks on their fans.
01:41 Turning their fake relationship into a joke, both stars find a way to laugh off the tabloids.
01:46 They aren't a couple in real life, but they certainly have enough chemistry to pull off this
01:50 moment. "That's not my fiancé. He's in my dressing room, but we've got a great show for you tonight."
01:54 Number 28. Mark Hamill. On this home shopping show, the presenters try to sell off Star Wars
01:59 collectibles. The segment then takes a shocking and hilarious turn when they bring out Mark Hamill.
02:04 "How's it going, everybody?" "Now, how much is this item going for?"
02:07 "Beautiful item."
02:08 Appearing to be a hostage, the actor tries to go along with this ridiculous situation.
02:12 Hamill has to contend with the inept hosts and even deliver some memorable quotes.
02:16 "Just play ball, Hamill. Just play ball." "All right."
02:19 "Luke, I am your father."
02:23 "Uh, I'm sorry, man. That sucked."
02:32 There are a few more surprises as the sketch continues,
02:35 including an entertaining interaction with Harrison Ford. The Luke Skywalker
02:39 performer gets to show off some of his vocal impressions and joke about his breakthrough role.
02:44 With this enjoyable premise, the guest helps to satirize crazed fan bases with this appearance.
02:49 "Are you sure that's really Hamill?" "We guarantee it!"
02:51 "Oh, come on. Of course it's me. We worked together three times. Come on."
02:55 "Uh, what the hell. I'll take him."
02:59 Number 27. Travis Kelce. On this sports program, the presenters mention the prevalence of Taylor
03:06 Swift at NFL games. The guys then go off the rails mentioning various references to the musician,
03:12 her relationships, and her music catalog. "It's so early, you're treating it like it's
03:16 Joe all over again. That won't end well. Don't- didn't you listen to Karma?"
03:20 "What? Karma's not about Joe."
03:24 It all culminates in a funny cameo from Travis Kelce. The latter just wants to talk football,
03:29 but only has a brief moment at the end to say his piece.
03:32 "When we get back, we are going to speak with someone who actually wants to talk football."
03:36 "Yes! Please!"
03:40 Kelce adds a ton of charisma to the sketch, as he avoids talking about his high-profile romance
03:45 with Swift. It's even more surprising to see the athlete show up as the partnership hit viral
03:50 status. Number 26. Julia Stiles. Appearing on Weekend Update to discuss holiday gift ideas,
03:56 Chloe Fineman offers up a unique substitute to the usual cliches.
03:59 "The perfect holiday gift this year is the dance that Julia Stiles does
04:04 at the end of the 2001 movie Save the Last Dance."
04:08 She reenacts a scene from Save the Last Dance with all of its unintentionally hilarious details.
04:15 Fineman also welcomes the film's star, Julia Stiles, to help her complete the routine.
04:19 "So does she get into Juilliard?"
04:21 "Yes!"
04:22 Fans of the 2001 movie will enjoy the performer's strange moves,
04:28 not to mention the bizarre context behind the entire performance.
04:31 Stiles steps in with all the confidence of her original role. Her appearance elevates
04:36 the segment into a goofy and nostalgic takedown of the teen romance.
04:40 "Okay, so Colin, what did you think?"
04:42 "Well, I can't say this on the record yet, but welcome to Juilliard."
04:46 Number 25. Nicolas Cage. In a recurring segment, Andy Samberg plays Nicolas Cage
04:53 and welcomes other actors to chat about his profession. This time,
04:57 he welcomes the real man in a fun subversion of the premise.
05:00 "Good evening, Nick. You're looking very well tonight."
05:04 "That's very kind of you, Nick. You look great, too."
05:09 Cage plays along with Samberg's impression, but he also throws out some hilarious critiques.
05:14 The star takes aim at his co-star's exaggerated features and over-the-top delivery.
05:18 "This Nick is calm and stealthy like a ninja warrior."
05:23 "Whereas this Nick is an exaggerated, screaming psychopath. He just doesn't exist."
05:30 They even come together to satirize Cage's filmography, discussing the outrageous elements
05:36 of his projects such as Ghost Rider. The absurd idea also has both men complimenting each other
05:41 before it's all over. In the end, they hint at their next adventure with an incredible
05:45 reference to national treasure.
05:47 "The time has come for us to ride on to our next adventure."
05:50 "What is that?"
05:52 "We're gonna have a three-way with a declaration of independence."
05:55 Number 24. Two wild and crazy duos.
06:00 Instead of using three bachelors, this dating show includes two iconic duos from SNL history.
06:05 Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg reprise their roles as the R&B singers,
06:09 bringing their own compositions with hilarious lyrics.
06:12 "Hey girl, you sound like a real tenderoni."
06:18 "So come take a ride with us."
06:24 The other competitors are the Festrunk Brothers, better known as the Wild and Crazy Guys.
06:30 "Your swinging dream dates have finally arrived for you.
06:33 So get ready to take a hike because we are two wild and crazy guys."
06:44 With a sketch this chock-full of legends, you can't go wrong. There are enough funny
06:49 references and jokes in here to make you forget the original premise. It's especially fun to see
06:53 Dan Aykroyd and Steve Martin return with the same energy as they brought in the 1970s.
06:58 Even if the scene flies off the rails,
07:00 the performers still bring the laughs in this endlessly entertaining segment.
07:03 "We've had two ways, three ways about to help out, 'cause we're four wild and crazy guys."
07:12 Number 23. Janet Reno.
07:14 Taking on an unlikely role, Will Ferrell made the most of his Janet Reno impression.
07:18 "Hello everybody. Well, here it is, my last day as attorney general,
07:23 and the farewell episode of Janet Reno's dance party. Zip it, just zip it."
07:29 His version of the politician loves to dance and has a stubborn personality,
07:33 making the real woman's cameo even more surprising here.
07:40 She busts through the wall and matches Ferrell's impersonation in a hilarious shakeup of this
07:45 recurring sketch series. Showing that she isn't too self-serious, Reno plays well opposite a
07:50 comedy legend. She's not the typical performer, but the leader shows that she's a good sport
07:55 that can dish out funny jabs of her own. The attorney general also sticks around to share
07:59 an unforgettable dance with her scene partner. "Oh Janet, I can't believe I have to say goodbye.
08:05 What do you do when you get sad? I just dance. Now hit it!"
08:09 Number 22. The Dictator and Martin Scorsese.
08:16 Sacha Baron Cohen's Admiral General Aladdin stops by to plug The Dictator,
08:20 mentioning the biased critiques of his film.
08:23 "Look at this one from A.O. Scott from the New York Times.
08:30 'The Dictator' is the best film I have seen in the last 10 years. There, I said it. Please,
08:36 please, not my face." He intimidates various people for positive reviews,
08:40 including a kidnapped Martin Scorsese. The acclaimed director is electrocuted until he
08:45 gives Aladdin the right answer, playing into the dark humor of the segment.
08:49 "Speak freely. It was good. It was great. It was better than Raging Bull."
08:57 Scorsese is especially game to show up for a movie that isn't even his own.
09:02 Playing well off of Cohen's genius, the filmmaker shows that he has potential in
09:06 more comedic roles. His final send-off even includes a few fun references for cinephiles to enjoy.
09:12 "Okay, very well. Put him back in the cell with Coppola."
09:15 "No, no, you told me he'd be released."
09:17 "Well, you promised me that Hugo would be under two hours."
09:20 "But it was. It was an actual…"
09:23 21. Dr. Evil
09:26 In light of "evil" headlines, Mike Myers returned to SNL with one of his best movie characters.
09:31 He brought back this villain for a funny cold open about the North Korea and Sony debacle.
09:35 "Hello, I'm Dr. Evil. I've preempted this program because I'm furious that North Korea
09:44 and Sony Pictures have both given evil organizations a bad name."
09:50 Dr. Evil's speech feels straight out of an Austin Powers script, complete with some hilarious jokes
09:55 aimed at everyone from Kim Jong-un to James Franco. There are even a few references to
09:59 the spy series that spawned this character in the first place.
10:02 "What are you gonna do next, GOP? Ask for one million dollars."
10:08 With some great makeup work, the actor disappears into the role once more in a
10:14 laugh-inducing sketch. Myers even gets to make fun of himself with a love guru shout-out.
10:19 "Look, I saw the interview. It was charming. But if you really want to put a bomb in a theater,
10:26 do what I did. Put in the love guru."
10:28 By the end of this scene, he proves that he hasn't lost any of his sketch comedy talents.
10:33 20. Eminem
10:34 In a parody of Eminem's Stan, Pete Davidson plays Stu, a young man with an increasingly unhealthy
10:41 obsession with getting his hands on a PS5. Throughout the skit, we're teased with potential
10:45 cameos from Dido and even Elton John, but these turn out to be fellow castmates Kate McKinnon and
10:50 Bowen Yang. But even as the words "slim shady" flash up on Stu's TV, we still can't quite
11:08 believe that we're seeing the real Slim Shady. As he unwraps a PS5, he has some choice words for Stu.
11:14 This sketch was the Christmas gift we didn't even know we wanted.
11:18 19. Brad Pitt
11:24 In an interview, Dr. Fauci joked that he would want Brad Pitt to play him on SNL,
11:28 and his wish was their command. In the cold opening for their "At Home" series,
11:39 Pitt adopts Fauci's recognizable voice and mannerisms to address some of the
11:43 misinformation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly those shared by a
11:48 certain individual. Pitt even received an Emmy nomination for his cameo,
11:52 and high praise from the doctor himself. Before wrapping up, the actor removes his costume to pay
11:58 tremendous gratitude to the real Dr. Fauci, as well as everyone who has been working tirelessly
12:03 on the front lines. Pitt's voice is a bit more natural, and it's a bit more like a
12:06 "thank you" instead of a "thank you".
12:16 18. Judge Judy
12:18 Sherry O'Terrey's impression of this no-nonsense, badass TV judge is one of her best and most
12:24 memorable recurring characters from her SNL tenure. However, there is one person who thinks
12:29 there's still room for improvement. Mid-skit, Sherry is interrupted by the one and only Judge
12:35 Judy, who has come as iron-fisted justice to show Sherry what it means to spit fire in the courtroom.
12:41 If you thought Sherry's Judge Judy was direct, you ain't seen nothing yet.
13:01 Sherry fights for a piece of the action, but she's simply no match for the OG.
13:05 17. Ellie Kemper, Ed Helms, Nancy Correll, and Jenna Fisher
13:17 When Steve Carell hosted the show in 2018, he made it crystal clear that an
13:22 Office reboot was not in the cards.
13:25 But then, it isn't just fans who are disappointed by the news.
13:36 Carell's old castmates appear among the audience to jump on the reboot bandwagon
13:40 and try to persuade him to think of the money.
13:53 Arguably, though, the most hilarious cameo comes from Carell's wife,
13:57 and former SNL cast member, Nancy and their kids, who are also keen to see the show revived.
14:02 He invites his co-stars on stage, and we wait with bated breath for the announcement that never
14:19 comes. Well, at least we got this mini-reunion.
14:22 16. Leonardo DiCaprio Riding high on his Oscar nomination,
14:28 Jonah Hill is brought crashing back down to earth when the audience shows more interest in his Wolf
14:33 of Wall Street co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio. But although Leo's name is mentioned several times,
14:38 it doesn't seem probable that he would suddenly walk out onto the 8-H stage.
14:43 Making his one and only appearance on the show,
14:55 the Oscar-winning actor calls Hill out for acting like a big shot.
14:59 He tops off his memorable cameo by re-enacting one of Titanic's most iconic moments.
15:22 How has Lee never hosted before? Quick, someone get Lorne Michaels on the phone!
15:28 15. Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, and Tracy Morgan Hosting for the first time since 1984,
15:34 Eddie Murphy emerged onto the stage while the audience enthusiastically chanted his name.
15:39 Naturally, such a momentous occasion couldn't pass by without some surprise appearances,
15:44 which is why we were thrilled when he was joined by comedy icons Tracy Morgan,
15:49 Chris Rock, and Dave Chappelle. After some first-rate banter, including a Lizzo shout-out,
16:03 these cameo comedy icons pay tribute to the comedian who paved the way for their own careers,
16:08 especially Chappelle, who says he's been following Murphy's blueprint very closely.
16:12 Joined by Kenan at the end, we get to revel in some of comedy's finest entertainers.
16:25 14. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dana Carvey, and Kevin Nealon's popular recurring skit featured Hans and
16:31 Franz, two Austrian bodybuilding enthusiasts who are more about the flex than the fitness.
16:36 They idolize their "cousin" Arnold Schwarzenegger, who usually appears in the form of a cardboard
16:42 cutout in the background. However, the real Schwarzenegger joined the show for a surprise
16:47 cameo, too. In one skit, he invites the pair to give a fitness pep talk to some kids, but it soon
16:52 becomes apparent that they're simply clueless. Not only does he have a great sense of humor,
17:06 not only does he take the wind out of their sails, he also shows them how it's done.
17:10 13. Bryan Cranston After the 2016 election, it often felt like
17:16 reality was imitating fiction. That's why it seemed rather fitting that SNL would turn to fictional TV
17:22 to send up some of the unusual choices who were joining the new cabinet. Walter White is brought
17:27 out of retirement to become the new head of the DEA, upon Steve Bannon's recommendation.
17:33 He explains how his credentials are really no different than those of his new colleagues,
17:42 even faking his own death. The skit is peppered with plenty of hilarious Breaking Bad references,
17:47 and his countless witty quips have us cracking up every single time.
18:01 12. The Five-Timers Club When Justin Timberlake made it to the Five-Timers
18:06 Club of celebrities who've hosted SNL five times or more, the show resurrected an occasionally
18:10 recurring skit that pictures the club as an actual club, of the "members only" variety.
18:16 This time, the show pulled out all the stops, and featured cameos from no less than eight people.
18:22 Paul Simon, Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Martin Short, Dan Aykroyd, Alec Baldwin, Candace Bergen,
18:28 and Tom Hanks all made appearances. The bit about the club members entertaining themselves
18:33 by forcing current SNL players to fight each other to the death is a particularly funny one.
18:38 11. Alec Baldwin After the first televised debate of the 2016
18:46 U.S. presidential election, SNL came to rely on surprise appearances from perennial host and guest
18:51 star Alec Baldwin to do comedic justice to the resort mogul's over-the-top personality and
18:56 distinctive speech patterns. At times, Donald Trump can seem like an impossible man to parody,
19:08 but Baldwin always delivers the goods, walking a fine line between the real president's outrageous
19:14 actions and the winking zaniness of a great SNL parody. No matter how many times he reprises the
19:26 role, we never get tired of watching this master Trump satirist at work, especially when he shares
19:31 the screen with Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer. 10. Barry Gibb
19:41 In a recurring sketch that answers the question, "What if Barry Gibb hosted a political talk show?",
19:45 Jimmy Fallon played the titular character, with Justin Timberlake as his brother Robin.
19:50 Inviting politicians and newsmakers for interviews is great, but of course, what is a show starring
19:55 two-thirds of the Bee Gees without some music? Around ten years following the sketch's debut,
20:01 the real Barry Gibb makes a surprise appearance, joining the others to sing at the end of the
20:06 segment. It was certainly an exciting moment for Bee Gees fans, and we get to see Barry's
20:23 humorous side too. 9. Matt Damon
20:27 Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court hearing was so bizarre that it didn't require a huge leap from
20:32 fact to satire. We all saw the SNL material practically write itself, so the only question
20:38 left was who would play the beer-loving nominee. Matt Damon delivers a faultless performance,
20:52 mirroring some of the hearing's more peculiar moments, from Kavanaugh's constant sniffing and
20:57 weird calendars to his intense mood swings and inexplicable rage. Reportedly, Damon was only
21:03 brought on board the night before the sketch was set to air. Still, the payoff speaks for itself.
21:08 We're almost sorry it was only a one-off occasion. 8. Paul McCartney
21:18 Two of Saturday Night Live's most popular hosts, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin,
21:22 who have hosted the show a combined total of more than 30 times to date, waggle their egos at each
21:27 other in this 2006 skit, each trying to prove that theirs has been the more illustrious hosting
21:32 career of the two. Seeing the two host together is entertaining enough, and seeing Martin short
21:41 as a waiter only adds to the fun, but it's Paul McCartney's wordless appearance that
21:45 really steals the show. Not even Steve Martin's quick joke can hide both actors' genuine surprise
21:56 at seeing Sir Paul up close and personal. 7. Larry David
22:03 Back in 2015, SNL decided to send up the Democratic presidential primary candidates
22:09 with a couple of special guest impressions. Although this cold open also featured Alec
22:14 Baldwin as Virginia Senator Jim Webb, Larry David stole the show with his cantankerous,
22:19 scowling Bernie Sanders impression. His spot-on cameo appearance as the famous U.S. Senator was
22:28 such a big hit with audiences that the curbier enthusiasm comedian has revisited it several
22:33 times since then, and even appeared alongside the actual Bernie Sanders in a later sketch.
22:38 4. Sarah Palin This cold open featuring Tina Fey's popular
22:43 Sarah Palin impression starts innocently, with Fey as Palin taking questions from the press
22:48 and giving typically silly answers. But then it cuts to a cameo montage of people criticizing
22:54 Lorne Michaels for leading the way in the campaign, and the two are seen as a couple
22:58 of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are also seen as
23:02 a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are seen as
23:08 a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are seen as
23:11 a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are seen as

23:33 as a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are seen
23:35 as a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are seen
23:37 as a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are seen
23:39 as a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are seen
23:41 as a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are seen
23:43 as a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are seen
23:45 as a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are seen
23:47 as a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are seen
23:49 as a couple of friends who are both very much in love with each other. The two are
