00:00All that everyone is talking about right now is the new and upcoming soap opera, The Gates.

00:05And while the casting for this show is yet to be released, we do know who won't be

00:09in it.

00:19Ever since CBS announced its new soap after 35 years, The Gates, the fans have been nothing

00:24but excited.

00:25They can't wait to see who's going to be on it and all other details.

00:29The Gates follows the lives of a wealthy black family living in a posh gated community.

00:33So you know we're in for that high-class drama.

00:36With this being the first CBS soap that's going to focus on the black culture and community

00:40after NBC's 1989, Generations, it sounds very promising.

00:45CBS said that The Gates will premiere sometime in January 2025 and looks like we don't have

00:49to wait much until we get the full details about it.

00:52And talking about the cast, we've good news and bad.

00:56Let's start with the good news first.

00:58One favorite, Debbie Morgan, aka Angie from All My Children, just got cast in Tyler Perry's

01:02new Netflix series, Beauty in Black.

01:05Morgan, who's been in the acting game since she was a kid on shows like What's Happening

01:09and Good Times and in the 1979 miniseries, Roots, The Next Generations, has been super

01:14busy since wrapping up on All My Children in 2013.

01:18She's popped up on Power and Power Book 2, Ghost, The Quad, Bigger and Our Kind of People.

01:23Now here comes the bad news.

01:25With Morgan starring in the new Netflix series, it means that she won't be able to join The

01:29Gates.

01:30One thing that all the fans had in common was that they wanted to see Morgan on the

01:33new soap.

01:35From the moment Gates was announced everyone on social media were like they wanted to see

01:38the Daytime Emmy-winning actress on it.

01:40I mean, she had to be there, right?

01:43It would make sense.

01:44We thought so too until we heard about the Beauty in Black news.

01:48Who better to lead a new black-focused soap than the fan-favorite who, along with Darnell

01:51Williams, made daytime TV history as Angie and Jessie on All My Children?

01:56So while it seems a bit difficult, let's hope she's done with Beauty in Black by the time

02:00The Gates starts filming.
