00:00We can assess how we got to where we are once the national security legislation is voted

00:23on and completed in terms of the process in the House of Representatives.

00:31Our teams and the WIP teams on both sides of the aisle are in constant communication

00:39about the WIP counts as it relates to both procedural votes and substantive votes and

00:48that was no different as it relates to the national security legislation.

00:52I did not speak directly to Mike Johnson about the numbers necessary because it was pretty

01:01obvious to us given the growing number of pro-Putin Republicans in the GOP, particularly

01:15in the House of Representatives, that this was going to require substantial Democratic

01:23participation.

01:25And we had a choice, were we going to put people over politics because the political

01:31thing to do is always to let the extreme MAGA Republicans crash and burn because they have

01:39so many out of control members, they cannot govern on their own.

01:45And we could let them simply crash and burn, but when we say we're going to continue to

01:53put people over politics, we actually mean it, particularly when it comes to meeting

01:59the needs of the American people, both domestically and in terms of our national security.

02:06And we're going to continue to do just that.
