00:00We're breaking down Taylor's new album, and all the hottest new music, talking to ATEEZ ahead of Coachella weekend 2, and chatting with besties Chris Jansen and Dwayne Johnson, plus Benson and Ruger stop by our studio.
00:16It's Friday, April 19th and let's get started with our Friday Music Guide.
00:20Taylor unleashed the Tortured Poets Department and at 2am announced it was a double anthology album.
00:30The first single of 31 songs is Fortnite featuring Post Malone.
00:39And our Taylor coverage doesn't stop there, we're breaking down the Tortured Poets Department.
00:45After Taylor Swift gifted Swifties with her Post Malone first single and a surprise double album, the internet exploded with theories of who and what it's all about, with even Kim Kardashian catching a stray.
00:56We break down what they're saying.
00:59So how much sad did you think I had, did you?
01:05After her breakup with 6-year-old boyfriend Joe Aldwyn, Swifties thought they'd hear the pop star sing all about it on the album, as they'd think you do on songs like So Long London, and L.O.M.L., which could mean Love of My Life, but also...
01:17Until I die, you're the loss of my life.
01:23Damn girl, but is L.O.M.L. about Joe? The real damn girl, most of the songs seem to be about her dating stint with Maddie Healy.
01:35Swifties have decoded lyrics about typewriters and even concluded she was disappointed in fans and the media for making her turn on him.
01:43Then listen to one more second of all this bitching and moaning.
01:48But also check the spelling on Thank U, Amy. And Swifties are obsessed with this lyric and the song being directed at North West and Kim Kardashian.
01:56Your kid comes home singing a song that only us two is gonna know is about you.
02:03Meanwhile, fans think Travis Kelce gets his love on anthology track So High School.
02:09Two different scenarios, you know how to fall and how to start over.
02:14So much to unpack. We are shook. Let us know your favorite song or theory in the comments.
02:21Back to back, I came back to fuck up. Is that that bitch I made rich last night? I think it was.
02:27Nicki Minaj has friends. Sexy Red, Chris Brown, and Travis Scott all show her love on FTCU's Sleaze Mix.
02:36Who thinks they can fuck with Sexy? I be hanging with them shooters, so like why would you test me?
02:42ATEEZ may be taking the stage at Coachella today, but yesterday we were hanging with them at the Grammy Museum.
02:48Hey, it's Tetris with Billboard News hanging out with ATEEZ. What's up?
02:52What's up? Long time no see.
02:54I know, it's been a minute.
02:55Being the first ever K-pop boy group to play Coachella, how was it?
02:59It's really hard, but we're gonna just show ourselves and that's what we've been doing so far.
03:05So and we are 100% confident about it. It was really cool. It was really cool.
03:10It's really honor to us and we will do more and more.
03:13We just do our things continually. I hope many, many good artists and many good K-pop artists will be go huge festival continually.
03:23And then I heard you over there talking about Ice Spice. Did you guys get to go see anybody else's set while you were there?
03:28Yeah, some of our members went to Ice Spice's set, but that was crazy.
03:34Yeah, we were really surprised with every moment.
03:37A few members watched Coachella other artists' stage and they were really crazy.
03:42J. Balvin and Doja and The Rose, we really learned from them.
03:48Yeah, so I think Tyler the Creator and Doja and J. Balvin, the three stages gave me big inspiration.
03:58So after that, I just make music after go back to hotel.
04:03Oh, nice. I love it. You were right back to work.
04:05Yeah, yeah.
04:06That's cool. And have you guys been on TikTok lately? Because I don't know, you're all over TikTok.
04:10You were shirtless and dancing. Did you know that the crowd was going to go crazy for you like that?
04:15Of course I knew that because I don't have a shirt because that's my feet and I love my style.
04:22And we have one more show there and we'll prepare more things. So look forward to it too.
04:27The full interview is coming soon.
04:29Peso Pluma is our king and he hooked up with DJ Snake for his new single Teca.
04:40We love when music meets Hollywood.
04:42And that's what happened when Chris Jansen recruited his bestie Dwayne Johnson for his new music video.
04:47A woman's life is crazy.
04:49It's an empty bar.
04:52And the beaters care of a lonely heart.
04:56That's a good one.
04:58Chris Jansen and Dwayne Johnson's friendship goes back to a parking lot in 2022.
05:03It's been one of the most amazing friendships and one of the most unusual friendships that I think people would look at.
05:09They would go, how did this happen?
05:11And do you guys really start singing in the parking lot of a hotel restaurant?
05:16And I'm like, yeah, did you really start singing Hank Jr. in the middle of L.A.?
05:20I said, yes.
05:22And now they've sealed that friendship with the music video.
05:29Well, Chris called me, left me a message actually and said, hey, brother, blues man here.
05:34That's the nickname that I gave him.
05:36He left me a message and he said, I have this new song coming out.
05:40What you see is what you get.
05:41We're shooting a video.
05:42Would you like to be in the video?
05:44And I probably within the hour I hit him back and I said, hey, don't threaten me with a good time.
05:49I'd love to be in the video.
05:56And yes, Chris is saved in Dwayne's phone as blues man.
06:00We're at the Mesquite Rodeo Arena.
06:02Great location.
06:03We had an amazing vintage Ford.
06:05And I had to fly into Dallas because I had a wrestling show that night.
06:09Chris was nice enough to fly in.
06:11He had to fly out a couple of hours later with his family.
06:13He had a show to do that night, too, as well in another in another state.
06:17And it was so unscripted.
06:21It was, hey, I got a truck.
06:23You bring your guitar.
06:24We got a cool location.
06:27You bring your Mountain Dew.
06:28I'll bring the tequila.
06:29And let's see what happens.
06:31What you see is what you get.
06:33Yeah, that's right.
06:36As I was telling him afterwards, I gave him a big hug.
06:38And I said, dude, I just don't get moments like this where I could just hang out and be with a buddy and sing and have some drinks and have fun.
06:48Because, you know, you're so busy and you're going to the next thing and the next thing and getting pushed and pulled.
06:52And I had a show to go do that night, which was a great show.
06:56But I was like, man, just these two hours for me was everything.
07:00The girls are having a good time as Paris Hilton and Sia join on Fame Won't Love You.
07:19Everybody obviously knows you guys went through a little bit of a little bit of beef that you had going on.
07:24So what do you guys think was the root of that?
07:26Why did fans kind of create that moment?
07:29I don't know.
07:31In Nigeria, the excessive stanship is real.
07:34If you like an artist or you feel an artist is your fave, you almost go to every extent to prove it in some sense.
07:40So even if it means fighting somebody else that says, you know, otherwise, that was kind of like the primary reason.
07:48Because I think someone came at him and then he responded to the person.
07:52The response had, you know, had me all in it.
07:56And I'm like, how did I get in this?
07:58You know, it's that 50 cent meme where it's like, me?
08:06You know, that was that was basically it.
08:08And that little ego clash, you know, had a lot to play in that.
08:12So it's like there was a back and forth of, you know, tweets and just chaps and everybody just trying to prove a point.
08:18I mean, listen, I know what you said about stans.
08:21They will get people in a lot of trouble.
08:23So you guys exchanged obviously some tweets back and forth.
08:25Do you think the whole thing was blown out of proportion at the end of the day?
08:27To a very large extent, because it's like some things that were necessary.
08:31Yeah, if we if we probably didn't key into the if he didn't probably key into the clout of the, you know, the fan.
08:39I probably wouldn't have had to be responding to him.
08:42You know, it's a lot of things that we just felt like it wasn't necessary.
08:47For the full interview, head over to Billboard's YouTube page.
08:51That's it for today. Make sure you come back next week when we hang out with J Balvin and the Black Keys.
08:56Lastly, Victoria Justice is here and rarer than ever on her new single.
