00:00 Hello, here are the top headlines today, making the news across our newsrooms in the North West.
00:08 A Lancashire motorcyclist has died in a crash in Torquay. Devon and Cornwall Police were called to a two vehicle collision at 7.40pm on Tuesday in Tainmouth Road.
00:21 The bike rider, a man in his 40s from Lancashire, was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been named but his next of kin have been informed.
00:30 A Grade 2 listed building was due to go under the hammer early this week but there were no bids.
00:36 The new Boston Hotel in Fleetwood has long been seen as the town's second most prestigious hotel after the North Euston.
00:44 Over 80 people have objected to a plan for a new children's home in Haysham. The property in Longlands Crescent would be used as a home for two young people, requiring 24 hour care from two staff but many residents nearby have signed a petition and objected in writing to Lancaster City Council who will decide on the application.
01:04 A wig and dad of five suffered horrific injuries in what were described as a frenzied attack by an American XL bulldog. Jonathan Hogg, 37, of Lomel Lane, Hindley, was looking after two of the dogs and one of them suddenly turned on him and inflicted facial injuries in a prolonged attack on the evening of Thursday, May 18th last year.
01:27 An emaciated dog was found straying in a Burnley street. The staffy cross, named Rupert, was found by a member of the public in March and taken to a vet who was so shocked by his skeletal appearance that they contacted the RSPCA. The charity is now investigating the issue and appealing to the public for information.
01:48 Now for the weather, it will be turning drier into the afternoon with sunnier spells developing, these becoming more prolonged later. A brisk north-westerly wind with temperatures around average. That's it for now, thanks for watching.
