00:00 If there is no Gita in your education, you are condemning yourself to lifelong slavery.
00:12 How exciting.
00:15 How exciting.
00:16 And that's the reason why even those who are not remembered particularly for their spiritual
00:26 inclination, people like Subhash Chandra Bose, even they founded their core on Gita.
00:42 When you think of the armed revolutionaries, Rajguru, Sukhdev, even Bhagat Singh, you do
00:53 not think of them as particularly spiritual people, do you?
00:57 You think of them as young, dashing firebrands with guns in their hand.
01:08 What is not shown to you is that they also had the Gita in their hand.
01:18 And some part of that propaganda has been deliberate.
01:21 For example, we are told that Bhagat Singh was a diehard atheist.
01:28 And the title of one of his books is often quoted.
01:32 But if you really go into his life, oh very short lifespan he had, 22-23 years, you will
01:40 find he was a voracious reader and he had a great love for spiritual scriptures as well.
01:47 There is no revolution possible without the Gita.
01:55 And if you are someone who thinks of the Gita as something old-fashioned and this and that,
02:01 I won't even wish luck to you.
02:03 No point wishing luck to you.
02:06 Even luck cannot save you.
02:08 Finished.
02:09 Game up.
02:10 Are you getting it?
02:15 It's therefore very important to read on your own of the people in the world who have contributed
02:28 in remarkable ways.
02:34 Those people can be counted on fingertips, but they are the ones who have made life worth
02:38 living.
02:40 And if you go into the details of their lives, you will invariably find very strong spiritual
02:48 imprints.
02:50 It is impossible to be a great person in any field without being spiritual.
02:56 And being spiritual is not about conforming to the images of spirituality, wearing particular
03:03 colors, following traditions or superstitions or rituals.
03:11 Spirituality is none of that.
03:13 Spirituality is simply what our friend here referred to.
03:18 An opening up of the mind, an awakening of consciousness.
03:23 There is nothing esoteric, nothing mystical in it.
03:28 What we are having here is a spiritual process.
03:32 It's much the same as any other classroom lecture.
03:38 There can be a textbook and there can be a syllabus.
03:41 And this field deserves that.
03:47 It's called education of the self.
03:51 Knowing what your mind is like.
03:55 It's close to psychology.
04:00 It incorporates elements of neuroscience as well.
04:04 But it has one thing that sciences do not want to touch.
04:10 The urge of the ego for liberation.
04:15 Therefore spirituality includes love.
04:19 Love of the highest order.
04:22 The love of the ego for its liberated self, for its liberated state.
04:28 It's not a state, but still.
04:32 Are you getting it?
04:33 If you are somebody who wants to really be big in life, then you must realize that bigness
04:45 is the prerogative of what the Upanishads call as Atma.
04:50 Atma Anant Asim.
04:54 Not just big, but infinite, limitless, boundaryless.
