00:00They're running this back. She won a split decision in their last outing. 29 years placed 42 years.
00:08So full credit, full credit again to Sakita. 49 placed 22, 180 plays 183 in height.
00:1783.977 in weight reached 184, 185 very very similar for the Australasian heavyweight
00:25championship. And here we go this is round one and she doubles up the jab straight away.
00:30This is Shea Keneally. I'll tell you something about Shea.
00:38She's got here on BoxRec Barry that she's from Port Botany and I'll tell you something if you're
00:44from Port Botany there's a good chance you're a Wolfie with her dad. Yeah and she's a maritime
00:50union ticket holder and now she's working on the Brisbane wards and as we know working out of fight
00:55club Burley Heads Gold Coast trained by Fidel Turkel and she just loves the wars and loves the
01:00hands-on work and her dad Drew is one of the proudest dads I've ever met. I did see the first
01:06fight between these two and it was a classic boxer versus puncher sort of exchange and obviously Shea
01:11got the nod in the first fight but you can't you can't sleep on the power. Can I ask you guys
01:18something and you can shut me down straight away here and I saw it at the beginning I had
01:24the pleasure of meeting Laila Ali in Arizona on a Kostazoo fight night.
01:30Did she strike you? Did you see a young Laila Ali? I'm talking looks wise. Yeah a little bit.
01:35Oh very much. Absolutely. Very much. She's got every punch in the book Shea. Yeah. Yeah the first fight
01:42when they both forward as well Shea Keneally's obviously got the blueprint to be able to win
01:46that fight again. I think she's got to stay on her toes the first early rounds keep away from the
01:51power. Notice Hemingway is going to tire out towards the end of the fight as well carrying
01:55that bit extra weight being a bit heavier here so if she can box smart you know she can come
01:59away with the win once again. Well you've already seen it. She's got a pitch perfect jab. Yeah.
02:05Barry why complicate things? That jab is picture perfect. Stay at range you can cause your damage
02:12and stay out of dangerous way as well. Hemingway's got massive power you don't want to run into it.
02:18Okay. Okay.
02:29End of round one. The fists and the fury.
02:34Shea takes an unnecessary shot on the chin. It doesn't wrap with her but I'd love to see her
02:51stay on the jab be busy on the jab and keep it clean. She's actually a lot more aggressive than
02:56I thought she'd be in the first round Shea. Okay. She's obviously trying to establish herself and
03:00show us she's not going to back up too much. She's going to punch with her and it's good just
03:05to throw those little things into a game plan. If you've got that game set game plan for a whole
03:10fight camp and then April's spanner in the works you know one minute into the fight it just puts
03:15the center of doubt in your mind. Exactly and obviously she's going to be carrying a lot of
03:18confidence from that first fight you know if you've already fought someone you've come away
03:21with a good decisive win the next time you guys fight you're going to have that much more confidence
03:25as well and you're going to be a much better fighter come fight night.
03:31Dempsey McKean, Barry Hall, Mark Warren commentary.
03:38The AMVF. The right hand. Australasian heavyweight women's championship on the line.
03:44South the back of the head Shea. Shea Keneally the reigning and defending champion.
03:50We're set for eight this is the second. Shea's doing a good job just
03:54circling circling to the right away from that big right hand of Hemingway's.
03:59Funky Phil Austin is the third man in the ring.
04:02Wow you reckon he hasn't been at center ring for some big fights.
04:11Very good referee Phil Austin. Yes referee many of my fights in the past as well and
04:16just an all-around good bloke as well. Champion.
04:20Right hand from Keneally came over the top of the left hand of Hemingway. There wasn't much
04:31that kept it from being devastating.
04:35There's that big right hand. You can see that power even when it doesn't land you know she's
04:39packing a punch there as well. She's really got to be smart slip out the right just where she
04:44Shea just kind of slipped to the left there as well. It's going to be a tough fight.
04:49Into that danger zone. She's got to be smart here. She can't get caught up in a brawl. She's got to get back on that jab.
04:56From Palmerston North.
05:00In New Zealand, Sakita Hemingway.
05:06You know who's next up Barry? Here we go.
05:10Savita Pangaia Jr. Does that name raise the fire at all?
05:15Oh look he's he's a he's a good fighter absolutely. That doesn't answer my question.
05:24Show me the money Barry. I'll fight anyone. I don't care. End of round two. Well let's stay with that before
05:30the replay. Okay tell us Stan Sport Australian. Curtis Scott is already bad mouthing you. He made
05:37short work of Joey Leilua on the other week and he said he'd make short work of Barry Hall
05:46and he's calling you out already and says it's easy work. Yeah look I don't know whether to
05:50respect that or frown upon it. I'm 47 years of age and he's calling a bloke out. It's like you're
05:55trying to get an easy victory here but he doesn't he doesn't realise what he's walking into.
06:00No he doesn't. If the deal's right and we want to get this done yeah it could be a bad night for him.
06:05A real bad night Dempsey McKee. I'll tell you what man I train alongside Barry Hall most days
06:10at the Fight Club gym and I'll tell you what 47 years old he's still moving like a 27 year old.
06:14He's still got plenty of power plenty of pop on those shots as well so I know these guys they
06:19think they might have a quick easy run but it's gonna be the complete opposite. I can tell you
06:22that right now. Be careful what you wish for Barry Hall. Curtis Scott there's your message. There's
06:28the reply. Show me the money and be careful what you wish for. He certainly didn't take the easy
06:34route when he went for pay-for-play or pay-for-punch rather. It was SBW and it was Paul Gallum and
06:41there's no no disrespect in having a draw and a loss to those two fighters.
06:47Round three set for eight.
06:51But Barry you're telling me you will fight again? I'd love to fight again.
06:55Things just have to align that's all. The stars align.
06:59Shea's really landing some good clean shots here at the moment as well and that's what it's about.
07:04It's just about a smart boxing stand away try not to get involved in that brawl too much because
07:09that's what Hemingway wants. He wants to be able to land a couple of those big bombs.
07:14Shea obviously wants her to know she can punch as well but she's got to punch in that in that bunch
07:19and then just step off. Exactly and she is having some success in these in these brawls as well but
07:24one thing you've got to be careful about is getting caught up in this and
07:31that was a great right hand. I'd like to see that on a replay.
07:36I thought that was a knock down there for sure. I thought it was a slip but I let the experts take it.
07:43Let's wait for the replay.
07:45Shea faints. Faints more. Right hand that scores. Slips a punch.
07:56Parry. Oh lovely right hand and then left hand over the top.
08:02Shea's done a really good job of feinting and investing in that body with the jab.
08:07Really good variation. Tell you what Shea has really improved since the last time these two
08:11fought last time out. She's got a lot more variation in shots, a lot of cleaner boxing,
08:15good head movement as well. She's really starting to progress her professional career quite well
08:20and quickly as well. 29 years of age. She said hey I'm a mum. It don't get tougher than that.
08:27She is the fight mum Shea Keneally and that's three in the bank.
08:31I tell you another thing and I will say it. That man there, Fidel Terkel, the amount of work he
08:37puts into young children across Australia is beyond belief. What he did. Here's some replay
08:45action. It was a slip Mark. We apologise. We got a bit excited but it was a slip.
08:50It was a slip at the end of the punch. I thought it might have been. We're just
08:53going to have to see what happens. It was a slip.
08:55It was a slip at the end of the punch. I thought it might have been. We're just going to have to see what happens.
08:58It was a slip at the end of the punch. I thought it might have been.
09:00I should have backed myself. I should have backed myself. He's doing fantastic things.
09:08Fidel as he did in Sydney and he's replicating the same on the Gold Coast. An absolute sports fanatic.
09:16He'd do it 24-7. He just loves it. He's a busy man in between coaching,
09:21promoting this whole production here as well alongside one of the Fight Club guys,
09:26Maka and obviously cornering and coaching on Fight Night too. Brian Kirwan, Red Corner
09:32Promotions. Amazing job guys. Amazing. Couldn't do it obviously without them.
09:39This is the Fiss and the Fury from the JBS Arena on Stansport Australia. Keneally lead right hand.
09:47Hemingway certainly come out aggressive. Flicks out the left hand, Sakita. Flicks out the left hand,
09:58take it on the arms. Shea changes the angle, puts her right hand over the top. I think it was a
10:04scoring punch. That shot's been landed for all the nights. It's that nice, nice slick right hand.
10:10It's not loading up on it. Not trying to load up too hard. I think you'll find Hemingway scoring.
10:14Did I see? Did I see Shea? I thought I might have seen the legs, but maybe I'm wrong.
10:24I thought I saw a wobble. You've got to be careful of that power. Absolutely. Can't mess
10:28with Hemingway's power. We know that and that's why Shea's just got to be on her toes. Yes,
10:33she can punch with it, but she's got to get out of range. She does not need to take unnecessary risks.
10:39Oh, she's having a lot of success on the inside there as well. It's got to be looking at that,
10:44look out for that big right hand that's going to be coming back every time, but
10:47she's doing a good job so far by stepping back and being quite evasive.
10:55So, Sakita, you can see the game plan. She's pouring, pouring and looking for that one shot,
11:01looking for that one shot. She's going to be aggressive with that body again. Two lovely jabs
11:08and don't get away from it. That's the girl as she doubles up on the left hand.
11:14And again, this tough as teak Kiwi marches forward.
11:24Changes the angle.
11:32Another great round there. Good round. Good round.
11:36Listen, the third women's fight tonight and all three have been absolute crackers.
11:41Barnburners from the get-go. Fourth female fighter, I should say, sorry.
11:44As you can see, Stiles makes fights, as we say, and Heavyweight's obviously got big power. She
11:50walks forward. Canelo is a boxer, but she's not shy in terms of standing there training with her.
11:57Look, I might be boring and she might like to show the whole arsenal, but
12:01and I might be old school, but oh my goodness, I'd have that jab going all night. Leather push.
12:08But sometimes, mate, when you get stuck in that brawl and you land some good shots,
12:11you get caught up in the moment. You hear the crowd start to roar.
12:14Yeah.
12:14That's what it's all about is trying to inflict as much damage as possible. And I tell you what,
12:19mate, it is fun at times. It's hard to snap back and get back into that boxing pedigree.
12:26You know what I'm saying, though.
12:27Yeah, I know exactly what you're saying. I'm more of a boxer myself,
12:30but sometimes it's good fun to get in the brawl. All that matters is you win in the long run and
12:33that's all it is.
12:34Now you're sounding like a bloke like Danny Green. Now you're sounding like the Green Machine.
12:39I love him. I love him.
12:46So, Shea, right hand to the midsection,
12:55pauses right hand and there's that shot over the right shoulder that's still stored.
12:59Watch your hands!
12:59And Hemingway, scary on the inside.
13:02Right, I'm coming in. Let it go. Let it go. You've got to watch that head in there.
13:10You can hear the corner say, get that jab, get that jab.
13:18What's been listened to, Mark?
13:21I might be a very boring trainer. I just, the only thing I know about boxing comes from the
13:26corner of Johnny Lewis, Jeff Fennec, and Kostya Zhu. So in a way, I might be giving myself a rap.
13:31It's not about cornering that whatsoever.
13:33Well, it's fairly much true.
13:36Well, just to give that jab out there, and you know full well, Debs,
13:39it doesn't have to be a scoring punch each time. It's just a range fighter. It's like,
13:43and in this fight in particular, with Hemingway's power, you need to know where your range is.
13:48Yeah, so you've got the jab, you've got the paw, everything comes off that lead arm in the end. So
13:53that's how you set up shots.
13:54Kostya and Tim, to a lesser extent, Kost was like a bus driver. He had the left hand
14:00on your gloves for the duration of the fight, but he had this spooky head movement.
14:05Yes, he's definitely one of a kind, wasn't he?
14:11Shea doesn't want to be here in the corner here. She wants to be able to get out.
14:15This is exactly where she doesn't want to be. She comes with a nice right hand though.
14:22Mark Warren and company, the tower, Dempsey McKean, AFL superstar, Barry Hall.
14:31Well, you may as well tell us, because it's cross-country,
14:34who's going to win the flag this year? Do the pies go back to back?
14:39Well, it doesn't look like it at the moment, that's for sure.
14:42Help me out.
14:42Look, it's open at the moment, obviously. It's early days, but yeah, Collingwood will come
14:48around. There's no doubt about that. But Shea Keneally, and we spoke about her investing in
14:54the body. As you can see, she went to the body there. It's opened up that big right hand over
14:57the top, which she scored a couple of times around. It's been really effective for them.
15:01But I did hear Fidel, once she backed her up, is to follow up with the big one too.
15:07So they're not afraid to punch with this girl, which is surprising to me.
15:11It's all about that second phase attack, isn't it? The first phase, your first attack,
15:14you back them off. A lot of the time, your opponent might switch off, use that as a risk.
15:18If you can come back with a second phase attack, a third phase attack, and keep them under the
15:21pressure, especially on the back foot, you're always going to have success every time.
15:25What we've just seen on screen there, the jab, the jab, the second phase,
15:29and then the big one too. So let's see if she puts it to action.
15:39Round six action, AMBF Australasian Heavyweight Women's Championship.
15:46James, what can Hemingway do here? She's obviously behind on the scorecards now.
15:50Has she got any variations she can really do, or is she just a walk up?
15:54I think she is just kind of relying on that power a little bit too much. She's not setting
15:58too many shots up like that. She needs to work that jab a little bit more, come down to the
16:02body, maybe start to drop that jab down the body like I was talking about in the previous fights
16:06as well. Maybe to look at a come over. She sometimes does have her hands a little bit
16:10lower from an exchange. If she can stick the body, come over with the right hand,
16:13try and land some big shots. Because obviously right now, she needs to score a couple of
16:17knockdowns to be able to come back into this fight.
16:19Six of eights.
16:26Shea Keneally pops out the left hand, taken mainly on the gloves by Hemingway.
16:32Right hand, again, Takeda caught it on the gloves.
16:44See, this is where I thought she could be busy off the jab.
16:48Yeah, definitely. If there's nothing going on, you've got to be active, especially if there's
16:51close rounds, pop that jab out, stick the jab to the body, scoring shots. It makes the judges
16:56look like you're being active. You're trying to be a bit more assertive. You want to win the rounds.
17:02If they're like, here, there's nothing going on, pop the jab out, pop the jab out. If it doesn't
17:05land, at least it looks like you're being busy.
17:08So, Takeda Hemingway at 42 years of age.
17:14Right, step back.
17:16If I say break, don't punch.
17:17Age is only another mark.
17:19Absolutely, Barry. When are you back?
17:23How old will you be this year, or how young will you be this year?
17:2547.
17:30Curtis Scott, he's waiting for the phone to ring.
17:39Big action on the tail.
17:41Speaking of action, replay action, Icons Entertainment, into the corner of Shea
17:46Keneally. Replay action, here we go. Dempsey McKean.
17:49Been a really good fight, and we spoke about that big right hand over the top,
17:53and the jab, just sending it all up. As we say, it goes to the body, goes to the body,
17:57and it sets that one up over the top. So, she's invested in the body, she's using the
18:01variation, and that right hand's been a real weapon.
18:04I like what I saw there, where she stuck the jab up, Hemingway put the jab up,
18:10Hemingway put the tight guard up, stuck the jab out again, tight guard,
18:13done that about three or four times, and it just revealed the midsection coming
18:16straight down with a nice right hand straight to the body.
18:18I like what I saw there by Shea, that was perfect.
18:20That looked lovely. That sequence looked lovely.
18:23And by the way, I did ask you, but he took over.
18:27I'm not knocking on his door. I'm a little bit smarter than that.
18:32I've heard stories.
18:36So, here we go.
18:39Australasian Hemingway, Women's Championship, 7 of 8, they touch him up.
18:46Lovely from Keneally.
19:08And as I say that, Hemingway scores.
19:12She's got to keep circling to the right, get away from that right hand.
19:15Doesn't need to risk it.
19:16See where Hemingway actually come in with something like a different approach there,
19:20rather than looking for the big shots as well.
19:21Come in with like a faster, speedier combination,
19:24and she had big success there against Shea Keneally.
19:40Good combination.
19:41This way, yeah, exactly. Shea back on the front foot there.
19:46Get that second phase attack while she's got a stunt.
19:51Oh, nice big right hand.
20:00Okay.
20:01Oh, nice right hand.
20:10Bang to the midsection from Shea Keneally.
20:14She's got all the punches, Keneally.
20:16She's got the combination. She's got the hand speed.
20:18She's a real talent.
20:20Yeah, I'm very impressed with her, especially after her last fight.
20:23The first fight they had was definitely a lot closer than this one here.
20:27She's just taken over every round.
20:29She's looking spectacular at the moment.
20:34Good body shot.
20:36Sakita has her full respect.
20:41End of seven.
20:43Thank you, sir.
20:43End of seven.
20:46Standsport Australia, The Fists and The Fury,
20:50in conjunction with Icons Entertainment.
20:53Into the corner we go.
20:55Fidel Turkle, Hudson, Lincoln Hudson.
20:59And here's the action from round seven.
21:04As you can see the hand speed there from Keneally.
21:06As I said, she's got all the punches.
21:07She's landed that right hand.
21:09That right hand has been a weapon all night.
21:11It's going to be interesting to see what sort of tactic they bring into this
21:14eighth and final round.
21:16Will they play it safe?
21:18Or will they try again for that spectacular knockout?
21:21Yeah, I think you've got to play it safe from Shea Keneally.
21:25But like I said, you can't just get too involved in these brawls.
21:28Be smart, land your shots, get out.
21:30You've won the fight.
21:31Hemingway, on the other hand, she needs to just let the hands go here.
21:34This is the last round where she can make something happen.
21:36She's got the power to be able to do it.
21:50Round eight action.
21:53Australasian heavyweight women's championship on the line.
21:58The reigning and defending champion Shea Keneally from Port Botany.
22:02The Warfee, the fight mom.
22:04Follow her on the socials.
22:07And she's looking good tonight.
22:09And full respect she has for her opponent out of the land of the long white cloud.
22:14Sakita Hemingway, with touch of death power, has the full respect of the Warfee.
22:21Now working out of Brisbane and training under Fidel Turgel at the Fight Club at Burley Heads.
22:27She looks beautiful off the jab when she wants to.
22:30But as the boys in commentary have said, when she goes to the body,
22:34she can be devastating.
22:36I just like to see her keep her distance.
22:40Well, she's definitely not doing that.
22:41She's going to work out.
22:43So it's answered our query.
22:45Will she jab and box and save this round out?
22:48Or will she punch through her?
22:49Lovely combination.
22:51Lovely combination.
22:52I know the team will want her to finish strong.
22:59She could stay away.
23:00She could stay away if she liked.
23:02She could, but she's a true fighter.
23:04I think she wants to punch it out.
23:11There's the jab up the middle.
23:12And that's how she started.
23:14She doesn't need to stand on the ropes.
23:16Am I sounding like an uncle or something?
23:22Sometimes you can't take the fighter out of the fighter.
23:24Yeah, yeah.
23:40That's what we like to see.
23:42The boys dance around, jabbing it out.
23:44It's a fight.
23:45In the end, it's a fight.
23:48That is the way to finish a round.
23:50And yeah, we spoke about it.
23:51And it kind of annoys me because I know that she's got all that.
23:55You know what I mean?
23:58As I said, you can't take the fighter out of some people sometimes.
24:01She's seen, she smelled blood, she went for it.
24:03And that's how she wanted to finish the fight.
24:05And well done to her.
24:06What a performance.
24:10And also, you want to be able to send a message to any future opponents as well.
24:14You know, you don't want to take anyone lying.
24:16You want to show them what you're made of, the skill set you've got.
24:19And you're going to be fighting till the final bell.
24:21This is what's coming.
24:22Either way, I'm digging deep.
24:25She started fast.
24:27She finished fast.
24:29Bite down on the gum shield and then just go for it.
24:32And the most impressive thing, she didn't need to do that.
24:34No, she didn't.
24:35One bit, but she did.
24:37I don't know, you're a boring coach.
24:40We'll make a nice little highlight clip on Instagram anyway, that little final bit.
24:44She's the fight, mum.
24:45Give her a follow.
24:47She's an inspiring young lady.
24:49I'll tell you that much.
24:52Hey, we haven't seen the judges' scorecards to quote a very famous call from a long time ago.
24:59That one was in the desert.
25:00Also at Garnham.
25:04We don't want to talk too early because we haven't seen the scorecards.
