00:00Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather
00:05alert for Derbyshire today, with the potential for power cuts and travel disruption caused
00:10by strong winds. The warning, which came into effect at 6.25 this morning and runs until
00:1510pm tonight, says that strong winds may cause disruption throughout the day. There may be
00:21delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges, and some short-term loss
00:25of power on other services is possible. The Met Office says that bus and train journeys
00:30may be affected, with some journeys taking longer, and there may be delays to road, rail,
00:34air and ferry transport are also likely. Their advice to residents is,
00:39Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving
00:43or bus and train timetables, amending travel plans if necessary.
00:47They add, People cope better with power cuts when they
00:50are prepared for them in advance. It's easy to do. Consider getting torches and batteries
00:54and mobile phone pack and other essential items. Be prepared for weather warnings to
00:59change quickly, and when a weather forecast is issued, the Met Office recommends staying
01:03up to date with the weather forecast in your area.
01:08Fans can celebrate Chesterfield FC's promotion back to the EFL, with the council confirming
01:13the date for the team's Open Top Bus Parade. After the club claimed the Vanarama National
01:17League title on March 23rd, Chesterfield Borough Council, working in partnership with the club,
01:23have confirmed that the event will take place on Sunday, April 21st.
01:28Celebrations will get underway at the SMH Group Stadium at 2.30pm, with the club's
01:32players, coaching and backroom staff boarding Open Top Buses to travel to the Town Hall.
01:37The buses will travel along Sheffield Road, around Holywell Cross and then on to Saltergate
01:42and Rose Hill East, arriving at the Town Hall at about 3pm.
01:46Supporters are invited to join the celebrations outside the Town Hall in a dedicated traffic-free
01:51fan zone, where they will be able to see the trophy once again lifted on the balcony
01:54and bring a truly memorable season to a fitting close.
